My Question or Issue
At the start of some podcasts, I am getting targeted ads in a completely different language than the podcast is in. The ads are completely random and unrelated to the podcast itself. Why is this?
I'm paying for this service, specifically to avoid ads. This is outrageous.
Same here. Spotify premium subscriber and suddenly started getting YT like ads on my phone. You've got to fix this ASAP.
I am VERY disappointed that there are now ads in my PAID subscription. This is NOT okay.
Same here. Family membership and a lot of adds in my podcasts. Five or six in one episode. All the same. It is annoying to get adds, but the repetitive nature makes me even more annoyed.
Why am I even paying? I can get this experience for free.
I’m with you on this, I also paid for premium individual £11.99 and still received ads and can’t freely pick what I want to listen to
I also find it very annoying and inappropriate to get ads before the actual podcast. While I think the support employees didnt fully understand my issue, they told me its the decision of the creators to add ads before the actual podcasts start.
Why does spotify allow this for premium members? I am paying to not have Ads.
To make it very clear: This is not about ads within the audio track of the podcast, but several standalone audio tracks before.
This should be investigated by consumer protection agency - absolutely unacceptable!
I don't mind if the podcast host is reading out third party adverts or endorsements but it seems this is just not the case.
I'm based in New Zealand and when I'm listening to German podcasts I receive advertisement for local New Zealand companies and products.
Please explain how this is possible if not orchestrated by Spotify !?
Wow what's the point with Premium if you still get the ads???
Just happened to me too - I’m shocked! The ads read by the podcast host are worse enough for an expensive subscription but Spotify adding ads?! That’s literally a scam. Commenting yo push this topic into awareness. Probably canceling the subscription is the only metric they will consider to evaluate this decision.
I paid for premium individual and the payment was done for the first three months trial but it does not work since there are still ads...but I have never had premium before.

My Question or Issue
How can I solve this?
I like how Spotify is completely silent in the face of these complaints and offers no work around. Lying to you and expecting you to put up with it is the current management style of more and more tech companies. They know that we're mainly a bunch of sheep. Don't be a sheep!
I have same problem when i arrived to UK. In czech republic nothing like that. Should be fixed soon or i will cancel subscription as I don't see any benefits of having premium then.
My GOD Spotify devs .. DO something already. Users have been complaining about this for LITERALLY years. You're lazy AF. Earn our subscriptions you bums!
you’re clearly trying to put the blame on creators for these ads, when the ad ads are deliberately added by the system. THIS SPOTIFY‘S FAULT NOT THE CREATOR.
Same here, started today!
I understand host-read sponsorships.
I don't understand how the podcasts episodes can get interrupted by a third-party advertiser that has nothing to do with the podcast, while having a premium membership.
The advertiser is not even from the same country of the podcast, the volume of it is higher and makes zero sense to be there. Is aggressive marketing and I pay the premium subscription precisely to avoid it.
This is outrageous.
Anyone received an adequate answer or this issue solved?
If this crazy advertising continues I’ll simply cancel my subscription.
Yes we need to let spotifly know this is unacceptable greedy bullsh1t. I'll be unsubbing soon if this continuea
I have suddenly started receiving adverts despite having a premium subscription
I also had two advertisements today listening a podcast. It is outrageous that I need to listen to this on my favorite podcast, I pay sot Spotify premium to listen in peace and not nonsense non-related things. I want to be able to choose what to listen and not be force feed non-wanted content. If the podcast host needs more money, Spotify should cover that from the money premium users pay, if it is not enough, increase the prices then. I DON'T want to listen ads! Don't misguide customers claiming ad-free experience and not mentioning podcast ads that interrupt the listening experience. I am really disappointed
Well then somebody please explain these:
Both right at the beginning of a "podcast" - a calming 9h recording of wind in a pine forest.
Really, really hope I'm not interrupted. And seriously considering going to Tidal.
