Hey there @Catty6985

Welcome to the Community! Thanks for reaching out about this and letting us know what you've tried.

Would you mind sending your device's make, model, exact OS version and Spotify version so we can take a better look?

We'd also recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app, as this can clear any cache that might be causing the issue and it's different than simply reinstalling.

Let us know how it goes. We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

running an Alienware 15 r2 i attached any additional info and if you need
more please lmk 🙂 this issue has been severely bugging me for sooo long
and i couldn't take it anymore so i need a fix (also i tried the clean
reinstall and it didn't seem to work but ill always try again if need be)

Hey @Catty6985,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Just to make sure that we're on the same page - do you mean songs that you've imported via the local files feature or downloads in general? Does the order change when you use the different sorting option? Let us know if the order is different across devices and which ones are affected. We'd also appreciate it if you include in your reply a couple of screenshots of how the songs get displayed at your end so we may have a closer look.

Keep us posted. We'd love to investigate this further.

It is via the local files option last I checked. Also when trying different
sorting options it never displays them correctly. In the pictures Spotify 1
2 and 3 there's the location of the files, and ill use the album
Alterniabound as a reference, but the first track is supposed to be Arisen
Anew, yet Spotify displays Vriska's theme (also the previous 15 files are
just from my downloads folder that are mp3's) as for the incorrect album
covers I use the album colours and mayhem. In the picture Spotify 4 it
shows the correct album cover but in picture 5 that is what Spotify
displays (as well as the first track Spotify plays is the mp3 that
indicates side b of the album for some reason??) and also in 6 is the
current settings I have for local files so if I'm doing something wrong I'm
so sorry.. It's just confusing as I had moved computers and redownloaded
the music from its original website (Bandcamp) and also reinstalled Spotify
on a used but factory reset computer, but on my old one everything was
fine..

Hi @Catty6985

Thanks for getting back in touch.

We didn't see the screenshots you sent, can you give it a try again?

Also, take a look at the steps and recommendations you'll find in this Spotify Answer about Local Files. If you've already checked those steps and the issue still persists, could you let us know what exactly you've tried from there?

We'll be waiting for your reply 🙂

Hi @Catty6985

Thanks for getting back in touch.

We're afraid we couldn't see the screenshots you sent.

When you send them, make sure to click on the camera icon in the post editor > choose file > done.

We also suggest that you try uploading them from an incognito window on a computer and using a different internet connection.

Keep us in the loop 🙂

Hey @Catty6985,

Thanks for the info 🙂

It's a good idea to try changing the source location for the local files in your settings. Does the issue persist?

Regarding the album covers- there is no option to change them because they are embedded in each track.

I once again fully reset spotify and reinstalled and also had moved the albums to a folder on my desktop and still no luck... also the art in the album in groove music or vlc media player shows the correct one but spotify doesn't which is confusing.. it also displayed correctly on my old computer. ill try and possibly re download the music and ill get back to you 🙂

Hey @Catty6985

Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

Would you mind letting us know if re-downloading the music helped?

Keep us posted. We'll keep an eye out for your reply.

unfortunately still no luck ;;-3- what is there left to try?

Hi again @Catty6985,

Thanks for getting back to us.

In this case, we'd recommend creating a new playlist and adding the songs from your Local Files in the correct order.

If anything else comes up, we'll be right here.

Cheers!

Sorry but this makes no sense. As the biggest and best platform Spotify Devs should fix this. At least Spotify Devs configure local files' playlist to be added right order?

yep, coming to say that i have this problem too. i have Mouth Moods by Neil Cicierega and Exmilitary by Death Grips both installed as local files. Mouth Moods reads chronologically, where Exmilitary does not, despite both being accurately labeled in the file system and even having track number indicators. pretty disappointing stuff from the world's largest music streaming platform

Hello Novy,

Hope ur well.

Do we have any progress on this issue?

Best regards,

Emre
