Why does my music on my pc keep pausing if my phone hears it?

I listen to my personal spotify account on my pc speakers, but spotify pauses if my phone can hear it, because they share the same account. My mic is also off/unplugged. Why does it do this? It's driving me nuts..

Thanks for posting in the Community.

It is not possible to listen to music on  more than one device simultaneously with only one account. I guess this is why the music on the PC pauses once you start playback on the phone.
