Hi there,
Thanks for reaching out. While it shouldn't start automatically, whatever you last played should still be in the "Now playling" field when you open the app anew. Just by pressing the play button, you can directly pick up where you left off. What exactly do you see on your end? Please explain the exact behaviour and send us some screenshots and we'd be happy to take a look.
Hope this clears things up.
If you have a podcast with hundreds of episodes you have to scroll down to find what episode you are on. Sometimes you don't listen to them in order.
I have the same problem. It shows me the last song that was playing and I can play that, but then it goes back to the beginning of my play list. I have to manually play the next song from my computer
Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out.
@niallmcclelland166, in order for this to work, you need to open the podcast page from Your Library (instead of from Home for example).
@BlakeRamon, we've tested this on our end but couldn't reproduce the issue. Please make sure that the app's cache is not being cleared/corrupted between sessions. If the issue persists, let us know your exact device model, OS version, Spotify version, and troubleshooting steps you've tried so we can investigate further.
Keep us posted.
same happened to me, was listening to a audio book. was in song 20 of the audio books album, next day i wanted to continue, it just started from new when i clicked the button at the last played item at bottom.
also i can not start any songs in a album, only starting from the beginning works.
also the currently played song is no longer highlighted in the list, so i have no idea at which song i am.
skipping through the songs with the next song arrow works, but since i don't know at which song i am or left of, it is not really useful.
i have seen a lot of similar posts come up lately. There seems to be a serious problem with the webbrowser interface.
i checked the app on my mobile device and it works there. it is only the browser that is affected.
there is a possible workaround with the new "Warteschlange" or probably "queue" in english fuction/window. if you navigate in there, it seems to work. but in the album directly most functions seem bugged.
Hey @khushrenada76,
Can you send us a short screen recording illustrating the issue so we can investigate further? You can attach it to your response or upload it to YouTube or Google Drive.
Also, what browser version are you using? Have you tried with a different browser?
Looking forward to your reply.
Hey MihailY,
as you can see in the picture, the song 65 is currently playing, but not highlighted.
you can see however which song is playing bottom left.
but i can not click on any song in the album to play it, i can only play the whole album and then skip through every song manualy to where i want to listen to.
i am using chrome browser, but i also tried mircrosoft edge, both show the same behavior.
the problem that i cannot pick up on the last played song seems to not be repeatable. it happened once, when the functionality of clicking play on songs in an album stopped working from one day to the other.
Hi @khushrenada76,
Thanks for your reply and the info shared.
Could you check if this happens with a different internet connection? If you don't have another one available, you could create a HotSpot from your mobile device. Also, try using the Web Player from an incognito tab and check if that makes a difference.
Lastly, if you're using a VPN, try disabling it.
Keep us posted!
Mine picks up the song where it left off for about 10 seconds and then jumps to a different song
Hey @Dougoc1,
Thanks for reaching out to the Community!
Does this happen on your Desktop only or does it happen on other devices too? Could you try on another network to make sure this isn't a connection issue. if you don't have one available you can create a hotspot from your phone and try from there. If the issue persists, let us know your exact device model, OS version, Spotify version, and troubleshooting steps you've tried so we can investigate further.
Keep us posted.
