Windows 10 and Google Home Mini - can only one play at a time?

Windows 10 and Google Home Mini - can only one play at a time?

So I have a Google Home Mini device connected to my Spotify Account.  The speaker is in the kitchen and my PC is in my home office.

My wife would start a playlist (from my account) using the speaker, but if I was listening to music on my PC, it would stop so that it would play on the speaker.  If I played a song on the Spotify PC app, it would then play on the kitchen speaker.

Can I not listen to the PC with my playlist and my wife play a seperate play list on the speaker at the same time?  Is there a way to disconnect the two?

Hey, @ChrisCollacott -

Unfortunately, Spotify doesn't have features to listen to music individually on a device;

Spotify accounts are not meant to be shared, therefore it's always only 1 active device per account.

You may want to look at a family subscription: https://www.spotify.com/int/family/

Thank you 🙂

Actually, I do have the family subscription.  I guess I need to set up a second account then that is linked to my wife's voice recongition right?

Hey, @ChrisCollacott -

After creating a second account for your family member, you can invite the member to your Premium for Family plan so they can all enjoy their own premium account.

Here are the instructions: https://support.spotify.com/account_payment_help/premium_for_family/premium-for-family/

Note: The owner and all members of a Premium for Family plan must reside at the same address.

Thank you 🙂
