Your Library cannot be expanded via mouse/keybinds beyond a certain point

My Question or Issue: 

When I use Spotify on desktop, I like to keep my view split between the album/playlist on the right, and my library on the left. Now currently, the library view takes up a three-wide grid showing less of my library and making the playlist/album section too large. Wondering if this is a bug or a change that's here to stay.

We can confirm that the behavior was changed recently. You can still expand Your Library by clicking on the arrows next to the "Create" button at the top right:

We’re always testing possible improvements and new features, so you might see something on the app that other users don't, or get a brand-new feature for only a temporary period.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us and will make sure to pass it onto the right team, as we always strive to improve your experience.

That is excellent news!

What version of the client is that? "Spotify for Windows (64 bit) 1.2.71.421.g794ff5e5" is still locked to three wide. (Anyone know how to force an upgrade? There doesn't seem to be a 'check for updates' function in the client.)

With update 28.08.2025 nothing has changed...

Wow! I'd uninstall and download the lasest version directly from the
Spotify website. Holiday for me today, but when I get to my PC tomorrow, i
will do this process myself to upgrade to the latest version

It's reverted back to the previous limited state - what are you doing?? Now you're just dicking us around!! It's such a simple modification, clearly there are a lot of people who hate the changed interface ... why can't you just revert it?!

This happened for me a few days ago. I got a glorious afternoon where I had my library back the way I like, then it snapped back again. 

Please spotify mods and devs, make this small change and let us use our libraries the way we want.

Do you really think that if we are all nice and polite, the lovely, kind people at Spotify will quickly grant our wish? For a (tiny) design problem that we have had to live with since April?
