Hey folks,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

@robert95, we'd like to gather some additional info. When you mentioned your songs were deleted, did you mean that you noticed the playlist was downloaded no more? It'd be awesome if you could clarify that point for us.

On another note, if you haven't yet, we'd recommend to perform a clean reinstall of the app of your computer to see if you notice any difference afterwards. By doing that the app can be up-to-date and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this inconvenience. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here. If this behavior persists, would you mind sending us the exact Spotify version you are running?

@Alen3, from what you kindly mentioned, perhaps the behavior you're seeing is related to what was reported in this thread. So, we'd recommend you give it a look at its status to try what our developers suggested. If you can play songs within Liked Songs collection or playlists, it is most likely related to that.

Regarding the inconvenience of being unable to download your playlists, did you notice if this started to happen after a specific event, such as an OS update? If yes, please send us the details.

Keep us in the loop!

Hello

@AlejaR yes, my liked playlist was deleted form my download files and all songs were needed to redownload, and I already performed a clean install, and my Spotify version is "1.2.0.1165.gabf054ab"

thanks for checking that for me

Hey @robert95,

Thank you for letting us know!

Are you by any chance using any VPN services? They can severely impact the app performance.

And, on another note, please try these steps out and let us know if there's a difference in the described behaviour:

  1. Open Notepad as an administrator (right-click > Open as Administrator)
  2. Go to File > Open, and navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
  3. Choose All Files instead of Text Documents next to the File Name box
    1. You'll see a handful of files, pick hosts and click Open.
  4. When the file is open, you will see a block of text with # in front of each line and might see entries like 0.0.0.0 website.com127.0.0.1 website2.com
  5. Check for any entries with Spotify in the address
    1. Examples may look like 0.0.0.0 weblb-wg.gslb.spotify.com0.0.0.0
  6. If you do find any lines with Spotify, please remove them
  7. Save your changes and restart Spotify

Many thanks in advance.
We'll be on the lookout for your response 🙂

Hello @Vasil,

No, I don't have a vpn and I tried with the hosts thing and didn't find any Spotify related host

and thanks for checking that for me

Hey @robert95,

Thanks for the reply and the troubleshooting tried so far.

Would it be possible to check if the same experience occurs with a different account on your device setup?

If possible try with a different internet connection, e.g. a hot spot and try a different device as well.

Let us know how that went for you,

Cheers!

Hello @Dian

sorry for the late replay I tried with the same account on a different device which is my phone poco x3pro and it works fine and tried on my laptop with different account and didn't work I found out later that I can't play searched songs anymore except if put the song to my playlist

Hi there @robert95,

Thanks for the reply. So the issue occurs only on the laptop, regardless of account, and you don't have any issues on other devices, is that correct? If yes, please double check your firewall settings and if possible, try using the laptop on a different network. You can make a hotspot with your phone to test this.

Let us know how it goes.

hello  @Joan

sorry for the late replay I did try with a different wifi but did not work and checked the firewall and saw that the Spotify app is  enabled in the fire wall

and again sorry  for the late replay and thank u for checking that  for me

Hey @robert95,

Thanks for your reply and for all the info shared.

We'd like to check some info. You previously mentioned that you couldn't play searched songs anymore, except if you put them into one of your playlists. Is this still happening? If yes, it's possible it's related to what was reported in this thread. So, if that's the case, we'd suggest you give it a look and try the steps posted in its status.

If you don't see that behavior anymore, we'd recommend you try running the app in Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking to rule out any issues with your default Windows settings and basic device drivers. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

Lastly, if the above doesn't do the trick,  it's possible to download the app from both the Microsoft Store and our Web page here. So in this case, if you install the desktop app from the web page, try to uninstall that version and try installing the one from the Microsoft one or vice versa.
