missing "send to" tab when sharing a playlist

missing "send to" tab when sharing a playlist

Hi there

I see only "post to followers" when I try and share a playlist.  The "send to" tab is not showing.  Is that just me?

"Post to followers" is not an option I wish to use.

Thanks

Spotify removed the messaging feature due to low usage 😞

WHAT?! I was freaking out because the "Share To" option completely disappared.

I used it all the time, this sucks 😞

Oh, so the messaging removal (which I read about while googling this one) includes the "send to" option?

Oh dear... I'm not sure how to share a playlist then, without using social media.  Presumably it is easy and I will shortly be educated.

Thanks for the info.

Update: I just logged into the web player and the "send to" tab was there.  Perhaps it's just my work PC that has the issue with the client.  Port 80 is not blocked, but I guess it might be another port blocking causing it, unlikely though it may seem. I will check this evening on my pc at home.

Mine is doing the same thing (Send to.. is not appearing on the desktop app but I can see it in the Web Browser)

I hope they add this feature back into the app quickly. I use it all the time.

Just to confirm, the same thing happens on my home PCs. The web player is fine.

The home PCs have been updated to the latest build.

Why on earth would Spotify remove this feature? This really sucks!

I can't believe Spotify removed it! That really sucks!

What a **bleep** shoot, I loved that feature! It was easy to share music with friends. Please put it back Spotify!

So, does anyone from Spotify know how I/we can share a collaborative playlist now?  I presume I'm being thick and it's staring me in the face, but so far I cannot work it out.  I pay for premium Family Spotify because I'm here for the music.  Sharing playlists is an important way we use the account, so please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

The "send to" via the web player now just seems to spin endlessly, so that is not a workaround.

Thanks

this worked for me...

user who is sharing it: right click on playlist to share.  copy url.  send to user who wants playlist.

user getting playlist: i opened a browser, pasted in copied link.  it opened web version of spotify.  senders playlist showed up.  i clicked follow, logged out of browser version.  then logged back in with pc desktop version.  playlist was now there.

hope this helps.  they need to bring send to... back, doing the above is a pita.

@stkoptions - great workaround.  Thanks!!

In fact it wasn't too much of a pita at all - turns out you can paste the URI (why not URL?) directly into the search field of the desktop client, which brings up the playlist immediately.

Still seems like Spotify should rectify what appears to be a bit of a fail.

It is absolutely ridiculous that you can't share a playlist within spotify itself. You have to copy a link to a clipboard, open up a completely separate program, and then the people you share it with have to copy it and open up a web browser to access it, and then it will play in their spotify program?

Are you kidding me? Just make a share with user button within the program, ffs.
