songs not in playlist not playing

Whenever I play a playlist, songs play perfectly. However, when I want to listen to an artist or album and those songs aren't on my playlist, spotify just doesn't play. This also extends to enhanced versions of my playlist: the songs that were not previously there don't play. This issue has been going on for several months for me now.

Hey there, sorry to know you're having trouble getting some music to play. This definitely sounds like strange behavior. Have you tried listening on other devices or in the web player to see if you experience the same issue?

Also, I would recommend performing a clean reinstall in order to fully reset the app. Please note this involves some extra steps beyond a simple uninstall/reinstall, so please be sure to follow the directions carefully for your device.

I've found a fix by downloading older versions (you can google older versions to find out how)
