I tried to stop an installation which suddenly announced it was happening. Now I have had a dialogue box for over 24 hours saying Spotify installer aborting - looking as if it is actually running, wioth a green moving bar. But it doesn't end and can't be stopped. It is now stopping me deleting Spotify from the control panel. Spotify is still installed on the pc. Would really appreciate help.

I suggest you to restart your PC and then try uninstalling Spotify from the Control Panel or Apps and Features.

If Spotify still doesn't work properly, try the clean reinstall:

1. Close Spotify and uninstall it.

2. Go to %AppData% in the file explorer, and delete any Spotify folders you find in Local and Roaming.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Now you can reinstall Spotify.

It seems that when Spotify is installing a new update for itself, it will launch an installer for this. It gets Spotify installed in no time and without changing your settings, so no need to worry about this. 🙂
