Spotify spinning circle

Spotify spinning circle

Hello,

I have searched the forums & tried solutions related to the above title. Here is my issue, and the series of events that led up to it, described in detail:

1) I install Vbox with intentions of running a VM I need

2) Windows blue screen crashes (BSOD) because I had Hyper-V enabled

3) Spotify breaks, and the launcher in the quicklaunch goes blank page and now it sits in the white spinning wheel. https://imgur.com/a/3U2SX

I have literally tried everything I know to fix this. I am worried something else is corrupted and would like to be pointed in the right direction. Here's what I've tried:

1) Uninstalling Spotify via the Control Panel, and reinstalling it via the downloaded installer.

2) Restarting my computer

3) Deleting the Spotify folders in AppData/Local and AppData/Roaming (we'll call this X), then restarting. Reinstalled via downloaded installer.

4) Deleting the Spotify folders in X and manually deleting every registry key associated with Spotify. Reinstalled via downloaded installer.

5) Deleting the Spotify folders in X and manually deleting every registry key associated with Spotify then running CCleaner. Reinstalled via downloaded installer.

Is it possible that Spotify is depending on another piece of the registry that became corrupted?

Hey @Mis2

One thing that may be worth looking into is rebooting your PC into Safe Mode (search for msconfig, or hit Windows key + R and type msconfig), and then trying to install and run Spotify there.

There is a tutorial right here which is initially meant for Error code 17, but it's still worth a shot. You'll also get a download link for Spotify offline installer there. 🙂

If it works there, then it's some program not being nice. Or the standalone installer simply works.

Note: to get back into normal boot mode, use msconfig.

If it's still not working well, try to enable Hyper-V and see if Spotify works.

You can also try restoring your system, and then, before installing VMWare, disable Hyper-V and see if Spotify is working or not.

Let me know what happens! 🙂

I'm too dealing with the same issue...I think its cache problem.

Now, I'm using Spotify web player.
