What has happened to Spotify's ability to quickly load on my Windows desktop. I am a musician in a band and a sometimes DJ and it is becoming almost impossible to use. The company will probably raise $5 billion in their planned Spring 2018 stock listing on the New York Stock Exchange but it is now bordering on massive consumer fraud in terms of everyday usability! What is going on?

Please let me know what Windows are you using. 🙂

One thing that may cause Spotify to load up slowly is Local Files. You can disable them by opening Spotify, clicking on the Edit menu and choosing Preferences. Scroll to Local Files and uncheck/turn off eveything under 'Show songs from'.

Other causes may be linked to insufficient memory / lots of processes running. That was apparently my problem. 🙂
