spotify web working but desktop app not working

My Question or Issue

so im always using spotify desktop app because i find it more comfortable, but since yesterday it started to not work at all. the sound doesn't exist anymore even though the volume is pretty high (both pc and spotify app) and the progress bar works fine! i tried to reinstall the desktop app but it doesnt work anyway. i tried to delete the cache but nothing happens. i'm listening music on the website rn and it works perfectly fine... i tried to remove/insert headphones and nothing happens so i guess it's the desktop app's problem. what can i do? 

+ the app on my iphone works fine too, the only problem is the app on my windows laptop!

Is there no sound coming from the desktop app, or is the volume just low? If it's the former, make sure the correct audio output device has been set for Spotify. You can do this in Windows' sounds settings while the app is playing.

In case the volume is low, check if Normalize volume is activated in the app's settings and disable it. Make sure also that the Sound quality setting is set to the highest option available. If you're using the built-in equalizer, try disabling it to see if that does the trick. In case you use any other third party apps that alter your audio quality, check if bypassing them temporarily improves the sound from Spotify.
