the more I update the desktop app, the more it takes time to load at start-up

Hello!

I have noticed - and I would like to inform the Spotify developpers - that the more I update the desktop application, the more it takes time to load at start-up.

Perhaps it is a problem of accumulation of new versions, perhaps it's caused by the cache data.

Could you please check this and add an option to clear the cache data if it's necessary?

Thank you.

By the way, is someone could tell me how to delete the cache data without uninstalling spotify?

Hi @S3ndG! 🙂

To delete Spotify cache without reinstallation:

All you need to do is delete the files in the following folder (for your platform):

Windows: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Spotify\Storage

OS X: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Caches/com.spotify.client/Storage/

Linux: ~/.cache/spotify/Storage/

If that doesn't speed things up, then it's likely due to other problems that might be solvable by reinstall only.
It's a large program and it doesn't load up very fast for me either.
