unable to shrink friends activity

I used to be able to shrink my friends activity to the left only showing my friend's profile picture. But now I can only either close the friends activity completely or just let it be.

The first one is b4 and the last one is after

We can confirm that it's no longer possible to shrink the Friend Activity widget to the point where it only shows the profile pictures. However, we do appreciate your feedback and we've forwarded it to the relevant team.

So is this an intentional feature or just a bug/mistake that will be fixed? It's annoying because it blocks other features like being able to see the dates for when you added a song to a playlist.
