[Sonos] Logging in

Solved!

[Sonos] Logging in

Premium subscribers that joined before our partnership with Facebook can log into Sonos with their unique username and password.

However, users that login with their Facebook details will need to retrieve a username and create a device password.

With this username (a series of digits) and password, Facebook users can login to their partner devices (Sonos, Squeezebox, Onkyo, WD, Boxee Box or TiVo system).

Hey guys! 🙂

Be aware the automated system sometimes take a while to get emails out, so you might want to wait 24 hours and see if it arrives before getting in touch, making sure you check your spam/junk folders. Putting in multiple requests can also delay things, so try not to request it too many times!

Anyone who is having issues in getting their device password should get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form and they will be able to get those emails sent out to you. .

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

On this support page: http://support.spotify.com/us/learn-more/faq/#!/article/connect-devices

You say: "You can retrieve your Spotify username and create your device password here" and the here is linked to:

https://www.spotify.com/account/set-device-password/

That page immediately reloads for me, then redirects to https://www.spotify.com/us/account/profile/

which has no mention of a device ID...

any ideas?

Hey! 🙂

Do you have a dedicated Spotify username and password style account?

If so, you don't need a device username and password, you can just sign in using your Spotify username and password.

Easiest way to check is to go to your online overview and get your username from there. If it is anything but a string of digits then you have a Spotify account and don't need a device password 😉

OK so I have always connected via Facebook login, but on my account profile page ( https://www.spotify.com/us/account/overview/ ) it does list a regular username that I picked (so at some point I must have chosen this)...when I try logging into Spotify via the Sonos app using this username and my password, if seems to authorize it and says I'm all set, shows Spoitfy in my music sources, and even shows all of my playlists etc...When I try to play a song, it throws an error, saying "Invavlid usernae / password"....Seen this before?

That normally happens when the username is right but the password is not.

Can you log into the Spotify website using that username and password?

Just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I changed my password on spotify.com. Tested this by launching the Spoitfy Mac OS App. Prompted me to enter my new password. Did that, started playing in the mac spotfy app. So far so good.

So now I go to the Mac OS Sonos App, and remove Spotify form my active music soucres, then Add it again, and add my username and my new password. I'm positive these are correct. But Sonos app keeps telling me the "Account not found....The Spotify server did not recognize your login information. Please make sure your login (email address or username) and your password are correct..."

Also tried using mu email address on file, but that did not work. Something seems to be cached, or not updating to the latest changes.

Any ideas? I have tried deleteing the spotify account from my sonos, then unplugging all sonos devices for 20 minutes, then adding again with my username and password which definitely work with my Mac OS Spotify app...still tells me the same message when trying to play Spotify tracks through sonos...

Strange, I have heard sometimes it takes a while for password changes to reach the Sonos systems, so maybe that is the issue.

Does your Spotify username or password have any non-alphanumeric characters in it?

No...totally vanilla alphanumeric....Feels like something is definitely cached or stuck somewhere...strange having this overlap between sonos / spotify as far as support goes...I would hate to have to open a NEW spotify account just for this...not sure how much more i can reset my sonos either...

Hi there, I'm having the same problems. I keep requesting for an email with my log in details for Sonos, but I do not receive one. I know the problem isn't my mail since I can receive mail from others. Can you please help me?

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

If you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they will be able to get one of those emails out to you manually. There have been a lot of posts about this recently, so I have escalated it as a potential service issue with the Spotify team.

Similar boat.

I have a Spotify username, yet I cannot log on to Spotify using that username + Spotify password. The username does match my Facebook username, and using it + my Facebook password lets me add the Spotify service to Sonos. I see my playlists, but cannot play any song (invalid login information).

The username + password is definitely getting validated somehow, since with the same username I cannot log in using my Spotify password, just my FB password.

My account is pre-Facebook deal.

This needs to be on the "HELP" section, because I just requested about 10 passwords in the last hour trying to figure out why I haven't received one....

A quick blurb saying it could take 24 hours would have saved me a few grey hairs....

thanks

I have the same problem.. No mails in my inbox to create the password for my Sonos. USER 1116190150

I finally just emailed customer service, and I have to say, they got back to me in 5 minutes.  Request that they manually send you a password reset link, and it works like a charm with the device ID they give you.

I am having trouble accessing my playlist contents from Sonos.  It recognizes my playlists, but I get the error message "Unable to browse music" when I try to access individual playlists.  The rest of my Sonos system is functioning properly so the problem is specific to Spotify.  I generated an account prior to the "facebook era" so have an alphanumeric username.  Sonos has told me that if I can somehow retrieve or gain access to my corresponding numeric username then I can reset the Sonos connection to Spotify using that and things should work.  However, I have no idea how to get that usernumber.  Please advice.

Hi, I have the same issue. Username 1111071919, requested password to be sent to my email, but no joy, also after waiting for days.

Please help.

If you get in touch with the team directly here they should be able to get one of those sent out to you manually.

m struggling to connect my premium account to my sonos. It's worked fine until two days ago. Since its asked for permission to allow the connection to sonos. I spent a few horse trying to allow it and got nowhere. I then set up a free trial account and it connected immediately. Wouldn't then connect to the premium account. Frustrating. .

On your premium account you are you logging in using a Spotify username and password or do you have a Facebook account and therefore log in with your numeric username and device password?
