Separate song and podcast playback

An option to separate song and podcast playback would be very useful.

i often find myself switching back and forth between my music and podcasts and it’s irritating having to go back to library or go through the various sections of Spotify to find the podcast or song I was playing previously.

Exact suggestion I came here to make. @everynameistaken if you haven't seen it, there is another suggestion to separate podcasts and music into separate apps entirely which has a lot more traction. go vote on it if you haven't already.

If I could add something here, I think even just separate queues for music vs. podcasts would suffice for me. I will have a few podcasts queued for my commute, and then I will switch back to music later in the day and after a song finishes it will immediately start playing a podcast episode. This can be frustrating, especially if I am unable to open my phone (on a bike ride, for example) to clear out the podcasts and get back to music.

I love making a play queue with both songs and podcasts for long trips, commutes or exercise. So separating sounds non-ideal. However, i do often find myself wanting to switch to a song while playing a podcast and then return to where i was in the podcast, but that's a pretty troublesome customer journey.
