[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Bump!! This filter should work both ways - users should have the option to never plan explicit songs, or to always play the explicit version of songs. It should be easy to toggle. For example users may be at work and turn on censored tracks, then at home switch to explicit.

Yes please, too long to get this basic bull**bleep** feature.

What is there to conisder?  Clearly with all the comments and the growing trend from some artists to continuously use bad language, there is a need for this ASAP!

Right now, i'd be happy if Spotify took a more ethical approach and banned all such songs.....

So a button would suit all.....

Frankly it's irresponsible for a company as large as Spotify to not have some form of parental controls. The songs are already tagged as explicit--what's the point of these tags if there is no option to avoid them?

I would like an additional filter when searching to return 'radio edit' only results where explicit songs are involved. I  can then check if there is 'children friendly' version of the song before downloading. I really want the option to decide what is explicit content and what is not but have a convenient way of finding clean versions when I deem it appropriate.

Spotify absolutely needs this feature. When it gets implemented please ensure it makes it to the mobile apps as well as the desktop.
