[All Platforms] Explicit Filter

Add a button that controls whether Explicit songs are played or not.  When it is off and you're listening to an album or playlist, the explicit songs are skipped. That way you can still listen to your favorite album or playlist when more impressionable members of the family (kids / parents) are around.

Hey folks!

It's great to hear music as the artist intended it to be heard, this means Spotify can sometimes include explicit content.

We recommend looking out for the EXPLICIT tag on any releases (E on the web player).
Note: Our explicit content tags are applied based on information we receive from rights-holders. This means we can’t guarantee all explicit content is marked as such.

It's also now possible to use the Explicit content filter on mobile and tablet devices (more devices coming soon!). Right now, the setting is only for the individual account and device. If you do apply the setting on your phone, it doesn't filter explicit content for the same account on the desktop app. It also doesn’t apply if you use Spotify Connect to play to another device. For more information on this, check out this support article.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there's anything else to share!

Thanks

Never need this feature before I had children but now I really want to see it implemented. I want to listen to music and educate my children about music but I have to sit watching my phone to make sure the next song isn't explicit!!!! Come on Spotify listen to your users and implement this

You guys already flag explict tracks, how hard could it be to add a toggle button to skip those tracks in the player? It's absurd that you've done nothing on this in 4 years.

Just want to add yet another voice to this request.

It doesn't seem like this would be a difficult item to implement.

A simple setting that allows users to select to filter explicit music.

Not censorship or license violations. Just a preference.

No, the explicit tags are not perfect and one may slip through from time to time. But as it stands now, ALL explicit music gets played.

Please? A filter?

Seems pretty simple...

This feature should be built in.  SO many families would get the family service if you had a family content filter for music to make it ok for kids.

I suspect most of the Spotify team don't have children of an age where they can listen and replicate works they hear. One of the down sides of a modern tech company. If they did have it would be a no brainer for the team, CEO amd MD. such a shame for an otherwise great product.

I won't be subscribing to the family plan until this feature is available. It's been long requested and other services do now offer this functionality. Really hope this can be processed soon.

Spotify have had their head up their **bleep** for so long now that even when they do put in this inevitable filter they will still stink.

I'd like to be able to use playlists at work for background music, but it's rather unprofessional when someone walks into my office and my computer lets out an F-bomb. Is there ever going to be a fix for this? Are you guys seriously having a hard time with this technology? Doesn't seem like rocket science.

2 things would be ideal 1 - An explicit button to prevent radio from playing things NSFW or NSFKids.  2 - A family plan where you can specify age appropriate filters for each family member.

I would even pay extra for this service, but instead I won't get a family plan at all.  As soon as another service offers filter levels for kids, I'll drop Spotify and move to them completely.
