Change the white interface

Original Post -

Obviously we have launched the new spotify with white artist profiles and album view.

However, the white interface have no ctrl+F function, which means that I can not find a specific song within an album or artist with a search function. This takes us to a world before altavista.

- I dont like

Another problem in this white interface is that we squeezed the track info into a little box. When in album-view, a track with a couple of featured artists will not fit in this box, it is not scrollable, it is simply a secret what the song is called, and who is playing it.

- I dont like

However, the new activity field is awesome, where one can follow people very selectively, and not get music-feed from everyone you know on facebook.

- I DO LIKE!

Hey guys! We’re changing this idea to “Implemented”.

Allow us to introduce Spotify’s new look. Now Spotify has a darker theme, refreshed typography and rounded iconography. You read more about these changes right here.

I want back "the old SPOTIFY" !

The new is absolutely inappropriate.

this white/grey scheme is killing me ,,, I cant really look at the screen any more ,,, I will end my subscription if there isnt any alternative than this...

I like the new layout but dislike the new colors. Just add an option in Preferences for "Light" or "Dark" themes.

I've commented on the colours already, but with that aside please also take onboard that the new layout borders on ridiculous as to the amount of dead space on either side when using a wide screen. The character limit is truncated to approximately 40, and there's no way of expanding this or viewing the whole title without queueing it and viewing it there. Likewise if it's a collaboration between artists.

And what's with the '4 box' view (as opposed to '2 box and line' view)? Really, who's going to use that on a computer screen?

It also necessitates lots of scrolling up and down when hunting for songs.

All in all, it's big, clunky, and built like it's meant for fingers on a mobile phone, not a large computer screen and a mouse pointer. I'm sure bringing it closer to the mobile apps is a big driver for this change (I have no complaints about the white background on my phone), but you have to understand that the requirements for a good desktop program and good mobile phone app are very different from a users perspective.

Sort this out spotify.

Please give us the option to change back to the old color scheme. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but the fact that you left the side and bottom in the old style, and changed artist pages to white, makes the whole program look horrible. It's like you just wanted to copy Rdio but got bored halfway through the design process.

Give me back my old Spotify - the update is very unwelcome.

First off, I don't believe forcing an update without a separate option to change back to the original, was a good idea.

Second of all, I will be no longer using Spotify until the problem with the white interface is fixed. I can no longer use the program seeing as it is physically impossible to read.

I really enjoy this program. Please, just fix this problem with the white interface.

I've been a US Spotify user since the beginning and frankly this is the worst Mac app update I've seen to date. The dark background is the primary reason I coulnd't stand Rdio and other competitor services. The interface was just easier to read and overall pleasant on the eyes. This has got to change immediately. When you combine this with the lack of Retina Mac support on artwork and other interface details, it's just a disaster to look at.

just wanna add my voice to the chorus asking for an option to revert back to the old color scheme. i have no functionality complaints, but this gleaming white background with black text totally kills the vibe for me. the old color scheme really set a good mood for music, and this white background is really just to clinical for my tastes. feels like i'm working, and that's not what spotify is supposed to be...

give us a choice!

One of the things I really liked about Spotify was the darker interface. If I put it on a larger screen, but I still want "mood lighting" it was great. That totally goes away with the white interface.

I also don't understand why ctrl+f doesn't work anymore? Is there a particular reason for that? It really makes finding specific songs a lot more difficult.

Also, If I'm looking at an Artist's full list of albums, but I want to add 1 song to a playlist, it seems I have to first look only at the album and then I can add that 1 song? Again, this seems like a step backwards. What's the benefit behind not having these options?

I would love to see this updated soon. I make and add to playlists everyday and the lack of these options has been frustrating.

Just updated to the latest release and am really disapointed that the dark UI has been replaced by a White UI and there is no way to change back to the old look and feel! Trust me when I say the user experince is KING and you have just gone backwards - you've got to make changes but you got to support the legacy users who might be happy withthe way things were. I really liked the dark UI and I sincerely hope you give us the option to change different colour schemes ASAP.

Still, your selection of tunes is wicked and if I close my eyes still sounds heavy.
