Clear play queue

I have to restart my spotify when I accendently start a song from a search instead of adding it to the queue (happens often to me), would be lovely if there would be a clear button for all the songs added to the queue by spotify it self.

Updated: 2020-12-17

We're happy to announce that we have implemented the Clear queue feature on our mobile app as well.

Just open the queue and you should see the Clear all button at the top

Hey folks, you can now find a 'CLEAR' button on the Play Queue in your Spotify Desktop app.

If using Spotify on your mobile device you can check the songs in 'Up Next' and then select 'REMOVE'.

Thanks for your feedback everyone!

I had the same issue of songs getting stuck in the queue with no way to clear them.  In the end, the only solution that worked for me was holding control and hitting the right arrow key repeatedly to skip all the songs in the queue.  I then selected a very short playlist as a test, and sure enough, only the four songs in that playlist were in the queue.  When I switched to a different playlist, the four songs from the first list were not kept in the queue, and were replaced with the songs from the second list.  Thus, no residual songs getting stuck (this is negated if you right click individual songs and manually select "add to queue").

Recap:

1.  Hold control and repeatedly hit the right arrow key to skip all the accumulated junk in your queue.

2.  Select a different playlist.

3.  You should be good from here unless you manually add songs to your queue.

Logging out and logging back in is easiest for me! It cleared my queue and it's not that big of a hassle.

I also had success clearing my queue in the iOS app by logging out and back in to Spotify. I agree, though, adding a quick way to clear the queue is an essential feature. Not sure why this hasn't been implemented yet. Maybe even a way to quickly select a list of songs in the queue (double tap or click-and-hold?) that can then be removed by clicking the remove button.

Seriously, people have been complaining about this since 2012 and it's still a problem. What is the reason not to have a "clear queue" button? People wouldn't have to use it if they don't want to, but for those of us that would like to it would certainly be nicer than all of these frustrating workarounds.

Good God, I just started Spotify-ing and I'm glad I'm only on my 7-day free trial, this is frustrating, I seriously don't know the reason why they have not create a Clear Queue button.

Cmd-A Delete doesn't work on my freshly installed Spotify desktop app. This seriously cost Spotify a premium subscriber, primarily because I still have my AM subscription, and they allow me to Clear Queue, dang.

I NEED to clear my Up Next Queue the same songs keep playing and I'm paying for premium as well as have 700 songs I'd like to listen too! very frustrating!

How do you start an empty playlist on an iPhone?
Ruby7

Create the Forever Empty Playlist. (Obvious) Choose that Playlist. Answer the nag. Voila!

This issue should have been fixed in the last years. If you add a playlist to your queue you have to select every single song manually to delete, idiotic.

Pleeeease insert this Button! Because these workarounds suck.
