[Desktop] Add support for Apple Silicon (ARM64 on Mac)

Feature request:

Add support for Apple Silicon in a future Spotify release on Mac OS.

Apple have recently released a new generation of Macs based on their own Apple Silicon. I hope that Spotify will prioritize native support for this new CPU architecture.  If so the best music platform on the Mac, will continue running great natively on the new generation Mac hardware.

Hey everyone,

Thank you all for bringing your feedback to the Community Idea Exchange and participating in this Beta test!

Your input has been invaluable and helped us tweak the app to make full use of the new CPU architecture.

We're happy to announce that the app is now out of Beta and can be downloaded from our website. You should automatically get the correct version for your Mac's CPU and all updates will be automatic as well, just the way it was in the past.

This idea is now officially implemented! Thanks once more for all your votes and posts.

Happy listening! 🎶

The *only* reason I downloaded this beta was because of the annoying bug where spotify crashes whenever my Mac mini goes to sleep. The beta has not fixed that issue.

This bug still exist in M1 spotify app. Mine keep crashing after waking up the mac, really annoying. Only force quit can resolve the issue 😞

Hi all,

After 8 years, I still have that bug from time to time:  Spotify says the song can’t be played on a particular machine (song not downloaded). Restarting Spotify always solves it. It never happens with my iPhone though.

Whatever Mac I use. M1 is no exception I’m afraid 😧

I still have a bug on my Mac M1: every time it wakes up from sleep, Spotify does not respond anymore. I have to force quit it and restart every time. It's a major annoyance.

It still doesn't work here. Using an iMac M1, the system is updated with the latest version.

I'm about to give up and cancel my signature... I use Spotify a lot while working from home, and this hasn't changed for three months now.

My issue is, out of nowhere, Spotify somehow connects with my keyboard and random keys make the tracks skip, replay, pause etc. I can't do anything on my keyboard, or it interferes with Spotify. Makes no sense at all.

I've tried using the app and the browser. Nothing.
