[Desktop] Video size in podcasts

You can currently only choose between a small video size and full screen.

I wish you could stretch the video to the rest of the window, as the rest of it is really a waste of space. Full screen would be alright but then I can't do anything else with that screen.

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

 

We're happy to announce that resizing the podcast videos is now available on Desktop.  You can do this by hovering the mouse over the corner of the video and then clicking  and dragging to adjust it to your preference.

Why is this not implemented yet? What seems to be an issue Spotify people? Current video size choices are **bleep**...

 

We need a middle regular screen like on YouTube. You can not be that dumb, this current setup must be with a reason.

This feature should have already been implemented. Like most people above, I usually set up Half the screen with a podcast via YouTube, and half the screen work. With Spotify, it's either a TINY box that is practically useless or full screen making it, so you can't even check email.

 

Does anyone at Spotify even use the product for podcasts? They seem incredibly out of touch.

It is 4/12/2021. For a moment I actually did see that they had a podcast theatre mode for desktop but I logged in and now its not there. Back to either mini-player that is unmovable and un-sizable or a full screen that renders other windows unusable. I don't know how developers can't see that this is a *terrible* feature. Do I need to update or something like there's no way this is actually still an issue right? I couldn't imagine they tried it and then threw it away? Just checked and I have the latest updated version so I'm just lost here.

How is this not implemented yet?  It's so frustrating only having a tiny or full screen option.

Please make this change. Watching podcasts while I work is a bit harder when I can't use an entire monitor since I can only see the video well when it takes up the entire screen. Should be able to resize if necessary.

Agreed. This needs modified. Full-screen or hardly-any-screen shouldn't be the only options. Make the video player bigger for a player.

Why is this still not fixed??? Jesus, how arrogant are you people? You think because you’ve cornered a market temporarily you can provide a third rate service?? Customers remember! And most of us cannot wait to pay you back for your lack of care once a decent alternative comes along.

100% Agree. It is a feature that I am really used to with Youtube.  Spotify has an exclusive with a particular podcast I follow so I watch it through Spotify. This aspect of the Spotify Podcast experience prevents me from considering to use it as my primary podcast player until it is resolved.
