[Discover] New Releases Section for Followed Artists

Please add a section to the desktop and mobile apps where we can see all of the new releases from the artists we follow. When artists release new music, their fans want a way to find it directly in Spotify without having to rely on social media or elsewhere away from the Spotify app. The Release Radar playlist by Spotify only shows some new releases and then it disappears a week later.

This new section would act as a "feed" and update automatically when a new album from an artist you follow is available on Spotify. Please make the feed have a high display limit so we can go back months and months and for sure won't miss any releases.

For a third party solution check out (PLEASE IMPLEMENT IT LIKE THIS)

The problem with the current "new releases" section is that it doesn't show new releases from artists you follow. It only show the most popular new releases. The only way right now to find new releases is to go to the artist's page and hunt around for the new release or use the Release Radar playlist.

The Release Radar playlist is not what we want. The problem with the Release Radar playlist is that it mixes in suggestions. I want to see followed artists ONLY. And if you check the playlist a week too late, all the songs are GONE.

We need a feed that we can scroll back months and months and months so we can see all the new releases from the artists we follow. We shouldn't have to rush through it and it be gone the next week.

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that a new releases section for the artists you follow is now available on Desktop, iOS and Android mobile devices. You can find it on the desktop app by clicking the bell icon in the top right. On mobile, you can find it by tapping on your profile picture in the top left and going to the "What's new" section.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Ive been a premium subscriber since July/2016. Release Radar used to show new releases of any artist I have ever saved or followed, whether currently doing so right now. MUCH, MUCH better than current way it is right now. I have always looked forward to seeing who had new stuff out of all my favorite artists every Friday. Now, not so much. My current Release Radar has 25 artists Ive never heard of. Its been this way for awhile. Thinking of maybe subscribing to another service. Spotify is not close to what it was when I signed up,

Update this one as "Implemented". And add the green dot when a new release is out. It stopped showing. (Windows 11)

The release radar is not what we want and its not that great. i want a dedicated page that shows all the new releases from only the artists i follow, as its a pain staking task to go through individually. i would have expected this as a premium feature so people can follow the new releases from those they follow all in one place.

Its frustrating as you have added courses and ebooks which i dont care too much about and one simple feature is not being added, but happy to increase the price . come on spotify please add this!

Now I know why they force us into Release Radar - because they are using it to rig the numbers. More than half - LITERALLY - my release radar is bands I don't follow. Checked the description of Release Radar and it says "plus new singles picked for you". This after they JUST raised the price again. I am officially cancelling Spotify for Apple Music.

release radar is useless (and straight up works contrary to it's name by providing unsolicited "recommendations"), plus it's limited, what's new page is hardly usable (hard to navigate, doesn't keep scroll position, slow to update, no filters, no sorting, no grouping,  no search).

Yet another feature with "not right now" for 10 years.

Looks like it's to return to age-old and tested setup of

* carrying my music with me everywhere (100% downloaded)

* using *normal* players

* using last.fm for recommendations and relevant news

1000% agree with this statement - will bail on Spotify as soon as possible, they have completely lost my customer confidence with all their shenanigans

make this a thing lol

So with Release Radar maybe being shrunk down. The notification bell isnt sufficient and that there should be a playlist that shows a good chunk of new music being released.

Yeah all being well but it don’t go that far back, I think it should go back about a week especially for those that have a lot to follow
