I haven't used Spotify Web in so long, I dearly miss it, but I will NOT install adobe flash. Please developers, and thank you Spotify team!
So it has been almost 3 years and Spotify team still thinks it is good idea, not must be done immediately??
I use only play.spotify.com on laptop, because the .exe looks heavy and have some problems (too often restarts due to updates, unable to install it in 70%, errors, ERRORS, no ultra-fast way to stop music feature...)
Browsers will let flash go very soon, pretty sure you're already about to finish the HTML5 version, because you're the best!
In time when almost every device has web browser with full html5 support it would be easiest way to support large amount of devices without making special versions of spotify for them.
i disabled flash on all my devices - for now i'm not willing to "disable" spotify too - but time will tell...
as was said before, many of us in work situation can't install the spotify app and have flash disabled.
I would come back from Rdio immediately if spotify had a HTML5 web player.
Please drop flash! Flash is dying and hardly any webites use it. With Google Chrome being the only brower with flash built in, everybody else has to download adobe flash on their web browser, which opens the door for a whole bunch of nasty malware and viruses. It can also be good for Spotify because it would allow the web player to run quicker and more efficiently.
PLEASE Spotify, drop flash and pick up HTML5.
Signed, Sean, fellow spotify user.
I have to agree. Stop forcing your users to use flash in web player. We dont trust in flash security.
PLEASE Spotify, drop flash and pick up HTML5.
Flash is a timebomb for our security.
I completely disabled it, so it was sad to see I cannot run Spotify because of this.
Please tech guys of Spotify migrate to HTML5 as soon as possible.
Came over to bash the flash, then realized there *is* a linux client for Spotify.
You can keep my money! : )
Everyday gets me closer to leaving Spotify for Deezer or Google Music or anything mostly because of this Flash dependency. I don't want an app that can do whatever it pleases on my desktop, so the web version would be perfect IF you'd invest some time and money in an HTML5 standard-compliant website. Please !

Hey everyone! We can confirm this very popular idea is now fully implemented. The new Web Player uses HTML5 technologies solely. Thanks for your continued feedback in the Idea Exchange!
