Picture on Profile

I would like to suugest the option of adding our own pictures or avitars WITHOUT linking it to our Facebook accounts.

I know there are some of us that were fortunate enough to get Spotify before it linked with Facebook and I would love to add my picture on the account page.

I would love to just be able to change my display name from my username to my name without wiring up to Facebook!  Any way to be something distinguishable to my friends!

I'm close to deactivating my account because I subscribe for $5/mo, and I recently found that I can't listen to Spotify on my mobile which I ALREADY PAY FOR UNLIMITED DATA, and now I can't do something as simple as change my profile picture.

Please email me if you need a web designer to add a simple "add your own picture" feature.

I could knock it out next week for you guys.

The inital request been posted Feb/2012 - and now its Aug/2013 and you still haven't been able to develop it, event though helps been offered by the community, is it really because of Facebook? that's just silly and i don't understand, beeing premium member but not allowed to choose my profilphoto.... C'mon take action - please

I'm surprised that this is actually a hard thing for Spotify to implement. I also don't want to use Facebook, but would like people searching for me with; [spotify:user:'username'] to realise they have the correct user by recognising me in the profile pic. I am not satisfied that I am forced to leave it blank. : /

I absolutely agree that we should be able to upload a picture without using Facebook. Why would you NOT have that option is the real question.

Totally agree... I will never use facebook, and really dislike the way it has it's hooks all over Spotify... Come on, let us select our own profile pictures..thanks...

I just deactivated my FB account due to privacy concerns. Spotify links to the Facebook avatar, even after deactivating my Facebook account. So I am now stuck with a spotify avatar from a deactivated account.

I understand the business model of Spotify, like Facebook, relies on sharing. But insofar as Spotify goes, Spotify can rely on its own platform for sharing. Additional sharing on facebook is not a necessity.

In fact, the blatant tie to Facebook discourages rather than encourages me to use Spotify because it implies I cannot control the information connected to my Spotify account. And since I do not want to share the avatar currently tied to my Spotify account, it discourages me from connecting to friends on the Spotify platform.

Seriously, give some reasoned consideration to allowing us to upload avatars absent a Facebook account.
