ROKU with Spotify?

New to the forums but not new to Spotify. Recently I was at my brothers house and he had his Roku fired up with Mog and I have to say it was awesome! I argued the Mog vs Spotify with him for about an hour and it was a stalemate however the Roku argument he won hands down. I have looked through the forums briefly and have onyl found a few larthargic ways to add Spotify to the Roku.

I have read on some user groups that Spotify has plans to build an app for the Roku but they don't have a date or time frame. Does Spotify have an official announcement to bring there service to the Roku? I would like to know, if not I am seriously considering a switch.

I use my Roku with Pandora (which I can't stand) and to be able to use my playlists via the Roku would be the kicker that I believe would put Spotify over Mog and best of all I can tell my brother to shup up.

Other media streaming players from a well known hard drive manufacturer (I won't mention any names) have Spotify as an app on their media players. As a premium Spotify user,  I've considered buying another device just to get Spotify on my TV. Please add a Roku channel like every other developer who has made an app for Roku. I mean, if HBO and Disney can do it, so can you.

I think spotify is losing millions of clients on roku. People of roku are using Mog, Pandora, Rdio...... because the only service not available right now is Spotify, and at the end of the day, Spotify is losing a lot of money because of this stupidity

I'm seriously considering dumping my premium Spotify subscription just because of this. Both MOG and Rdio have Roku support as well as Pandora. We use the Roku all the time.

I am a Spotify Premium customer and a professional musician. I use spotify every day, throughout the day, and it has become a major lifeline for my music discovery. 

I am currently comparing Apple TV, WD TV, and Roku, and let me tell you, Roku looks baller. I would love to get Roku, but WD TV has a Spotify app...leaving me TERRIBLY disappointed with both Roku and Spotify. Don't worry, Spotties, I'm not going anywhere. I am, however, rather stumped on which one I should buy. Let's work this out, guys! This should not be a hard decision to make!!

I'm a relatively new Premium customer, but a brand new Roku owner. I was seriously disappointed to find that there is no Spotify app for Roku. From what I have read in this thread, I'm now trying out Rdio and MOG to see if they will fit my musical tastes as well as Spotify does, and if so having Roku support would be more than enough to drive me away from Spotify. Please make this a priority, Spotify!

I'm trying out Rdio tonight on my Roku because I've given up on Spotify being a Roku channel.  If it works fine, I'll be canceling my Spotify premium account.

I am a premium spotify user and loyal ROKU user.  When will you get ROKU app please?  

Is there a plan for it?  If not, please let us know, so that we can plan accordingly.

So, I started this thread in July, as of December Spotify has released nothing that I know of for Roku. I love spotify but after the Windows 8 Phone fiasco I have canceled my account and moved to RDIO because they have a great app for Windows Phone.

I am amazed at the lack of reponse from Spotify, I know they are an UK company, maybe that's the hold up. I don't know how they do business in the UK but I have counted at least 100 people that have quit or claim to be quiting if they don't get an app for Windows 8 out. I know this Roku app would be so awesome, it would be nice if someone from Spotify came in to these forums and said

"Hey we are working on it, we want it to be perfect before it's releases and you will see it in a few months"

That would have a lot of traction with me. Even if they just said "Nope, we are not going to build a Roku app, Sorry" I would be good with that.

Spotify as a product if great, Spotify as a company is below average at best.

Spotify get your act together and support roku, you are forcing us to switch to other services, and am a premium member also!
