Remove Pop-Up Suggestions

I have all notifications turned off on my iPhone through Spotify settings, but I've been noticing increasing pop-ups telling me to check out these random new features or playlists or artists that I couldn't care less about if I tried.  HOW do I get rid of this? Pop ups once a day was irritating, but now they are occurring 3-5 times a day and I have HAD IT. HAD ITTT.

Hey, you all!
Just jumping in here to say that you can now choose not to get the pop-up recommendations anymore. It's straightforward to deactivate the feature, by just following these steps:

Step 1: When the pop-up recommendation appears on your screen, tap on the What's this button.

Step 2: On the next screen, you just need to choose between don't get new recommendations from that specific artist or completely stopping to get the pop-ups definitely.

Once you choose to stop getting the pop-up updates, there is no way to revert this action, so think carefully before doing this, ok? 🙂

Last, but not least, thanks for suggesting this one, and don't hesitate to give us a shout if you need help with anything...

Regards,

Luan

I cannot see What's this button in India.

So glad I found this thread, literally was thinking to myself today that I am just going to cancel my subscription because of how annoying the modal pop-ups are. I really like Spotify but what is the point of paying for premium anything to avoid ads, if all your going to get is force fed something you never asked for, and were obviously trying to avoid. I think it should be easier than having to get another one of those annoying modal pop-ups, but at least there's a permanent fix. Hope whoever suggested this ridiculous idea is not in a position to do something like this again, because next time, I think I really am out.

I still get popups and Do not have a “What is this” button. I am on Spotify duo and was disappointed to not see this corrective implementation and still continue to experience popups even with all notifications settings turned off.

You show me a pop up ad for a concert I’ve HAD TICKETS TO SINCE BEFORE THEY WERE AVAILABLE FOR SALE! Stop showing me ads for it!!!!!
why do I pay for “premium” if there’s still ads??? That’s the only reason I pay and this is like the 20’th time I’ve begged you to stop. This is crazy. I will cancel if you don’t stop soon.

Thank **bleep**! I just had one of these popups and was prepared to find NO SOLUTION which is normally what happens with**bleep** app.

Only reason I still use Spotify is because that's where my 1500+ track music library is.

ShelleyLlama

Hi! I see among this thread the "solution" was to click "what's this?" but since then you've started another breed of pop up that does not have that option.

Please be respectful of your paying users and understand that people use your service to listen to music. Pretty much anything else gets in the way of that.

i've attached a screenshot to show what kind of pop up you've now circumvented your "implemented idea" with. No, it's not always about wrapped, it's about all kinds of things - including invitations to buy tickets for gigs I ALREADY HAVE TICKETS FOR.

please implement a REAL solution to this or, y'know, consider not doing it? Nobody ever sees several in app pop ups a day and goes "hey you know what? This is great".

Please just let us use your app without constant interference or give us the tools to curate our own (uninterrupted) experience.

also apparently I don't have the "privileges" to make my own post. Enjoy my money, spotify.

The feature is still not implemented. I can't vote for this feature, let's create a new post for 2024.

I can't either.

I've found a thread that says it's possible to remove pop up suggestions within the app, but that's demonstrably untrue. Every single notification is turned off in my app yet I still get suggestions for podcasts, artists, concerts, features... all the time. How many do I want? None. None at all. Not a single suggestion for anything popping up please. They're seemingly impossible to dismiss. I don't want to click out of anything. And I click out of all of them. Every time. Please tone it way down. Talk to your UX team. Tell them to get rid of all of them.

This change was never and has not yet been implemented. I still get popups and top down popups. This is NOT an ad free experience as advertised. Even typing this comment a pop up interrupted this comment. This is deceitful to have premium users pay for ads and popups to still be present. Ad free experience means THERE ARE NO ADVERTISEMENTS OF ANY KIND WHILE THE SUBSCRIPTION IS ACTIVE. This can be a difficult concept for a company to grasp, but it is a concept perpetuated by you. AD FREE LISTENING. Ad free listening. AD FREE LISTENING. Three words to follow. Dictionaries are online and available for help with these terms individually as well as structured together. I hope you become educated on what words mean especially when claiming them.
