[Social] Bring back Inbox/Messaging with Notifications

The Inbox/Messaging feature did not get a real shot at even being a feature because Spotify took away notifications for new messages. Give Inbox/Messaging some development so users can continue to privately share songs.

I came on here just so that I could suggest the idea or find other people who had already suggested it, so I'm glad I came to this page. I used the inbox feature a ton. Not to mention, I got friends to get a Spotify account and that's how we would share music. It's way more convenient than having to send your friends a link, and them having to open it up in the app. It saves you a step by making it accessible just by checking your inbox. Along with that, it was nice to have all the songs that people sent you right in your inbox and no need to go back to your text or Facebook message to look for it. I loved the messenger on Spotify and so did my friends! Can we please bring it back?

I used this feature a lot when it was first implemented - I noticed a while ago that I no longer received notifications when a new message was received, so it slowly became a feature I wasn't paying attention to any longer. Lo and behold, it just disappeared altogether, which they probably have atttributed to 'low engagement.' It's a shame, because sending songs to my friends on Spotify was fun and a great way to get them to try something new. Sending a Spotify song link over Messenger or by IM is not my idea of a good time, nor is it convenient.

I really enjoyed this feature, and I have no idea why it was removed, as Spotify did not give us a reason. Why remove a perfectly good feature? I also had some great conversation threads with friends where we'd share music back and forth, and now they are gone forever.  Spotify, if you're reading this, PLEASE bring this feature back!

Yes please bring back the messages! It was one of my favorite features of spotify was to share songs with individual people!

Come on Spotify, don't keep ignoring this flood of complaints! What's your plan? Are you going to work to reimplement this? If not, I'll cancel my family membership at the end of the month, but I'd rather hear that you're working on it. If so, I'll stick around and wait a bit longer, as I'm sure others would do as well.

Now you can only share to followers. Not everyone wants to share that way. For what reason did you delete the private sharing between users? BRING IT BACK.

I agree, I loved being able to share songs with different people on my friends list. They have different tastes, so I would send different songs to different people. I miss this feature!

What's wrong with Spotify.  Probably their best feature and they remove it.
