Way to prevent duplicates in playlists.

I have big playlists, and would like a built in way to prevent duplicates from occuring in my playlists.  This could be an option to prevent, or select/hide duplicates.

Feature:

When you right click a song, you go to add to playlist. Then you get the other menu that shows you all the playlists. The feature that you guys should add, is a checkmark by all the playlists that the song is already in (for that menu).

Things that this would help accomplish:

- Makes organizing by genre soooo much easier

- Makes playlist way less of a hassle

   - less doubles and etc

   - no forgetting whether you added a song or not

- Helps reduce playlist overload 

 - seriously essentially this is the first thing i noted, but come on, honestly im making 5 playlists right now, and and some songs overlap in genre so i have to know which playlists the songs are already in. This feature would help me do that all from the right click menus which are actually really fine as they are!

- It is a completely viable solution to the duplicate songs in a playlist because it leaves the choice to the user whether or not he wants one song in a playlist more than once (ie - a person who usually listens on shuffle but wants a song to show up more than others)

Honestly, these were all the same reason. But its a really good idea, its intuitive, makes sense, and is sort of kindve expected! 

If you agree do what you guys normally do to threads you support and bump (or kudos?) this thread!

Couldn't agree more. I'd like it to be like with iTunes that you get a warning when you attempt to add a song that already is in your list and then it's up to you if you wish to proceed with adding the song to the list. There should also be a function where you can right klick your list and "search for duplicates" and you'll somehow get the opportunity to delete duplicates. That would be so awesome.

We think this idea is one which is long overdue for an update. We'd also like to acknowledge the age of this idea, along with the popularity. As a result of the overwhelming popularity of this idea, especially in recent weeks, we're going to mark this idea as "under consideration."

Oh my days how long does it take to implement a duplicate remover tool!!!???
It's almost a year since LakeWorthB on ‎09-02-2012 wrote the original post, and I'm sure it was spoke about long before that.

Checks or colours on songs so you can see what songs you already have in your list, so you dont add the same song again on your playlist!
