armhf Spotify library for DIY projects

Me and many others have bought inexpensive ARM based hardware for media center use. Sadly most Linux distributions for these platforms are built with hardware floating point calculation only, and the Spotify library for ARM is software only.

Would you be kind enough to compile an armhf version of libspotify for us? Based on the number of orders on the Raspberry Pi platform alone I would expect the potential number of Premium service users of this library to be 100.000+.

Hello! Sorry for the delay on updating this but we’re pleased to announce the beta release of libspotify 12.1.103 for hardfloat armv6, allowing native support for platforms like the Raspberry Pi. You can find more info here: http://devnews.spotify.com/2013/01/22/libspotify-12-for-hardfloat-armv6-raspberry-pi-beta/ Thanks!

Yes, a armhf version would be welcome, so we do not have to rebuild a kernel with software FP support.

I'm myself looking at building a DIY 'appliance', using an Allwinner A10 SOC based board, running Mopidy.

This idea should be fairly simple to implement, right? Just recompile libspotify with -mfloat-abi=hard -mfpu=vfp

Waiting this curiously to be able to use Spotimc in RaspBMC box 🙂

Hi guys,

Just to let you know - we're aware of the need for a hardfp build of libspotify and we're looking into it. Unfortunately, for various reasons it's more involved than a simple recompile and we're not able to promise anything just yet. Hang in there!

I'm also really looking forward to a hardfp build of libspotify. The new squeezeplug image is build on raspbian. It is beautyfully build, but now support for spotify is gone...

Yea, armhf version would be great.

Then I can run SVTPlay and Spotify on my Raspberry Pi, what else do you need? 🙂

hard float (armhf) would be awesome. I need this for my pi! 🙂

i'm also looking forward to having a hard float version for my pi!

That would be awesome indeed!

I'm building an Erlang-based Spotify jukebox server and want to get it running on my Raspberry...
