armhf Spotify library for DIY projects

Me and many others have bought inexpensive ARM based hardware for media center use. Sadly most Linux distributions for these platforms are built with hardware floating point calculation only, and the Spotify library for ARM is software only.

Would you be kind enough to compile an armhf version of libspotify for us? Based on the number of orders on the Raspberry Pi platform alone I would expect the potential number of Premium service users of this library to be 100.000+.

Hello! Sorry for the delay on updating this but we’re pleased to announce the beta release of libspotify 12.1.103 for hardfloat armv6, allowing native support for platforms like the Raspberry Pi. You can find more info here: http://devnews.spotify.com/2013/01/22/libspotify-12-for-hardfloat-armv6-raspberry-pi-beta/ Thanks!

Another upvote for your priority on this one - we REALLY need a hf build. The RasPi guys, hardkernel, toradex and all the other big guys are all switching to hard float BSPs/images recently, leaving libspotify appliance developers stuck. Counting on you!

i talked to a raspberry pi reseller yesterday. he said he has still 200 raspberry pis paid but not shipped because the manufacturers cannot produce enough to satisfy the demand. apparently there's something going on and i guess the majority of raspberry users use their pi to put raspbmc on it. why? because its awesome!

however, videos are fine, music's still better! 🙂 so please build a hard float lib!! We want Spotify!

Still want this!

It is the last piece missing on my Rasbmc installation to allow me to listen to Spotify without using my laptop or phone.

I got two Raspberry pis, one is connected to the TV and stereo receiver (running Raspbmc) . I too would love to listen to Spotify through the receiver and not just my PC.

+1 from me!

Looking to get a new sound system, would love to be able to design and build one myself using raspberry pi!
