@Crosscheck67 you can look at the quarterly report here for yourself. i'm by no means an expert in how businesses are run or what it takes to host and provide access to the amount of media spotify has, but from that report alone they don't seem to be too worried. active users and subscribers were both up, total revenue was as well, and to be perfectly honest, even if operating loss and cost are drastically different, operating loss was in millions of dollars while total revenue was in billions. it doesn't feel to me like they're struggling at all, but i could easily be mistaken. regardless, locking song lyrics behind a $12/month subscription is still nonsense, and makes the platform harder to use for a large number of people. **bleep**, if they decided to let free users fend for themselves and let us add our own lyrics, i'd happily spend a couple of days doing that for everything in all my playlists, like the old days when itunes was still good.

@Crosscheck67 | Spotify is not in charge of lyrics the company, MusixMatch is. Spotify is just wants to more money with people buying premium. And I say more because they already make money with giving people ads.

뭔 생각으로 이런 방식을 도입하니 가사가 하나의 서비스 방식이라면 커버도 제한 하겠네?

No problem.

Congrats on the first time of making profit for the hard-workers.

Anyways, I haven't taken a good look-around in this place, but I was preferably saying it with/for the people who didn't bring that up in the first place. Some of us just wanted the lyrics to be not behind the paywall, that's it. I don't know why it was necessary enough for you having to suddenly mock someone just because of it? If you wanna play-around with people who wants everything to be free, sure. I don't have much problems with the ads, and not everything can be free (understandable), people have to somewhat get something in return for their work.

But I genuinely don't see the point with hiding the lyrics for that. It doesn't look so attractive. Except the discounts and other stuff.

Besides from it, I don't have any problem, if you wanna put 5 ads after a song finished, sure. If you wanna raise the prices up, sure.
And yeah, I can agree with how the feature gave Spotify a bad look because of people with difficulties of hearing (that's one problem). And there are also a lot of threads created circling around this.

It's not a life-threatening feature no, but people just mostly find it really excessive? I forgot what word fits what I am trying to say. And I don't have much to say either about your sentiment, since I personally feel that way as well for every other platforms, whether it be a music-streaming app, video games, etc. Purchase when you wanna/are capable enough to, don't if you don't need it/or if you're not financially stable.

And as obvious as it can be, again, just the lyrics is what I am talking about, and the monthly limit. Just more of a why kinda.
Overall, thanks for taking your time to reply to my comment.

I'm deaf (I currently have cochlear implants which connect to my phone via Bluetooth) and I have always struggled with understanding audio when I can't read people's lips, or when the sound is overlayed with music. I have relied on the lyrics to understand basically everything I listen to, so to have this feature removed is incredibly frustrating. I want to keep using Spotify to listen to my shared playlists and keep my list of liked songs at hand, and I will, for now. Spotify has definitely made it as easy as possible to use their services as opposed to other platforms, but this update certainly doesn't help their business in my eyes. Please add the lyrics back in and I won't complain any further.

Downloaded Music File even not supported Lyrics as well. 😂😂🤣🤣

I didn't know this, but there were inquiries in the community and forum, so I checked.

Lyrics cannot be viewed offline or in downloaded files -_-

It's very disappointing that some **bleep** promoter has provided lyrics to music streaming players that people around the world listen to, but the lyrics are not available offline when listening to downloaded files.

All Korea music streaming Company  will load lyrics even for downloaded files and offline file playback.

Did you know?

I started off with restrictions on lyrics,

but I'm very disappointed with the direction of the service that supports it. 🤑🤑

Who is this streaming player for? What for?
