Add Bit-Perfect Playback (WASAPI Exclusive Mode) on Windows

Now that Spotify Premium offers lossless streaming, it’s time to unlock its full potential for Windows users.

Currently, the Windows app routes audio through the system mixer, which can alter the signal (resampling, volume control, etc.). To deliver true bit-perfect lossless audio, we need a WASAPI exclusive mode option (similar to what Tidal, Qobuz, and others provide).

This feature would:

• Ensure the audio stream is delivered untouched to the DAC.
• Allow audiophiles and Hi-Fi users to enjoy Spotify at its highest fidelity.
• Make Spotify a true alternative to other lossless services for critical listening on Windows.

No exclusive mode Spotify option for me.
I even reinstalled Spotify desktop and also tried downloading from Microsoft store.
Where are you located if it works for you?
I'm in CA USA -Windows 11 and nothing.

The limitation in the rollout checking for lossless eligibility has been removed as it was suspected to not work properly. So if it hadn’t shown up you can look again and see if it works now.

Working fine here, settings were located below the Equalizer. I was on version 1.2.84.476.ga1ff6607 and didn't see the exclusive mode options so I updated to version 1.2.85.519.g549a528b and now it's glorious.

Thanks BjornRoth, so there was a bug?  Well, I updated the app and now it's working like a champ.

Version 1.2.85.519 now features Exclusive Mode, but it is currently in Beta. If you don't see the option in this version, please make sure to fully close and restart the app, then wait a few minutes for the feature to appear.

Good news!

Exclusive Mode is now available in the Spotify Windows desktop app for Premium users. This feature is important for listeners who want Bit Perfect playback from their audio device, and it pairs great with Lossless turned on for the purest audio quality up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz FLAC.
