Hello!
I think it's a good idea to bring back the feature that when you select a new song the queue would automatically refresh, that was pretty useful! I will leave two videos at the end of this post to show how it was before and how it is now.
At first, I thought it was just a bug, so I posted about this on Spotify community before and I was guided by a Moderator to try using the Ideas Board to bring the "feature" back. You can access the post through this link.
I can state four reasons for that to come back:
- First, the algorithm related to make a consistent and random queue, loses it's sense since the queue will not refresh after selecting one song that would generate a "fitting" queue acordlying;
- Second, that is a major flaw in usability;
- Third, Spotify app on Windows (I don't know about the other OSs) does not have the an oficial option to turn off permanentally the Smart Shuffle and the easiest way to refresh the queue would just be selecting another song;
- Fourth, I have used Spotify in a lot of different computers with diferent specifications and the fact that we'll have to possibly pass through the Smart Shuffle as we manually refresh the queue, turning on and off the Shuffle is not good at all considering that the app may crash or have a poor performance in low budget computers.
I don't know when this feature will be fully removed since it seems that just some accounts were affected by this new update. I really think this is a vital feature for the app.

I appreciate any response.
My best regards,
08/14/2025 Update: It seems that more and more people are missing the "feature" since a lot more people commented and liked both this idea and my post in Spotify's community. That makes me believe that more accounts were included in the test field, thus, more people are complaing about it.
Edit 1: English improvement, minor corrections (english hard lol) and update added.
