[All Platforms][Podcasts] Option to disable or hide podcasts entirely

I don't listen to podcasts and don't intend to. But it currently takes up valuable space in both the Spotify mobile app and also in Android Auto. It's annoying having to see podcasts all the time when I don't care for them and don't want to see them.

Is it not reasonable to just have a toggle to show podcasts or not?

Please let us filter or block podcasts, I have multiple ones I don't want to see (because it's easy to click and listen despite that I know they are bad, as in low accuracy or fact checking)

Further I don't want anything in other languages than my target language, so seeing English content is not what I want (even if I speak it) 

I'll cancel my premium again if can't control my feed better, as it's currently filled with things I don't want to see at all

Hi, it is years now (from the very begining actually...)  that I pay a family fee for listening music and support the artists. Since the podcast appears on my home, I am unhappy to see more and more propaganda podcast coming from the state services, or other junk. I am so bored with that now I jump away from home as quick as possible. I stopped to play other podcast just not to be forced to see thinks I hate. But I like spotify custom playlist like custom new stuff and can't avoid the "splash" page full of ****. I was happy with no podcast at all.

If I write today it's because I have enough. Since 2019 people are asking for this super easy feature to hide what spoils some user's music experience. If I pay, it is also to avoid ads. Propaganda is advertising.

I stopped downloading music because the spotify experience was nice and smart. Spoiled it, and I'll return to mediamonkey and downloading. My patience is running low, I am super close to that step back.

This is still a big issue in 2024. I don't want podcasts, audiobooks and courses. Its a pain in the ass navigating around all of the excess **bleep** that I don't want!

Until a few days ago the feature existed to 'Not Play Anything from this artist' when you went to their name, but now that's gone. It now says "Exclude from your taste profile." Please add this option to podcasts and their hosts. I don't want to see certain podcasts appear when I login. I think 7,900+ likes on this issue indicates how people feel about it. Increased fees and less control for users over how they curate their own experience here is not the way forward.

Spotify pays a lot of money to keep stupid podcasters like Joe Rogan live so they will not give the users that are the ones paying money to keep the service alive the right to delete from our timeline things that we don't want to hear.

For the artists nothing, for disgusting people like this Rogan everything.

Since you are doing nothing to solve this I'm not paying anymore, it's better to use yt music or something different so why keep this trash system that I can't edit what I don't want to hear when I can use something else? I already have youtube premium I just need to upgrade to the family thing and delete my subscription from this garbage service, keep your trash away from me.

I canceled my family premium service one month ago over this issue. After years of Spotify refusing to offer even the most basic podcast filtering for customers I'm finally done. I thought the family would complain much more but they switched to getting their music from yt premium without an issue. I feel like I haven't lost anything. I have more money. yt is much better about keeping podcasts out of my face on their music app. I wish I'd canceled sooner.

I agree.  We should all collectively vote with our wallets.  Individual complaints do not carry much weight.

This is a good idea.  I too have a Spotify family premium account and a YT family premium account.  If YT music is reasonable, it is a no-brainer to cancel Spotify.

Canceled family premium and went with Apple Music for this reason. At least there it’s a separate app and using Screen Time with my kids, I can restrict access to the Apple Podcasts app.

Yes please. I am SICK of seeing that **bleep** Joe Rogan every time I open Spotify. Please let us hide it or SOMETHING. It was bad enough when Spotify were trying to shove Jordan Peterson (god help us) down our throats but yeah. Please. Let us hide hateful content.
