[All Platforms][Podcasts] Option to disable or hide podcasts entirely

I don't listen to podcasts and don't intend to. But it currently takes up valuable space in both the Spotify mobile app and also in Android Auto. It's annoying having to see podcasts all the time when I don't care for them and don't want to see them.

Is it not reasonable to just have a toggle to show podcasts or not?

It's getting way worse. My Home Page is now almost all podcast recommendations despite the fact that I mostly only use Spotify for music. I look to Spotify for interesting music reccos, not podcasts.

4 years later and still no option to disable podcasts. Like many others, my 12 year old likes listening to non-explicit music, but I can't allow him to because of all the podcasts and videos available in the app. Please let us disable explicit content for podcasts and videos.

I’ve been on Apple Music for a year after using Spotify for 12. I’m having the best music experience. Even before Spotify had podcasts Apple Music just blows it out of the water

LOL almost half a decade later, this BASIC customisation isn't implemented

I'm keen for AI to make QA jobs obsolete soon, at least at Spotify, cos clearly humans serve no purpose in this area

we've been barking up this tree for a long time now, and it's gotten us nowhere...

But we have a crapton of votes, and ideas that could do SOME of what we want have very few.

If you have time, maybe adding your votes to the following topics might help:

'Ability to "dislike" or "block" unwant[ed] content' 

'All platforms - Dislike an item and avoid it' 

'[All Platforms] "Don't Like Button" should be added to all sections'

thanks, I voted all three of the topics. but you are right, the void is
unlikely to answer. funny enough, the entire ethos around Spotify is very
self-congratulatory - I heard a podcast Yesterday, where one of the
founders claimed that Spotify's mission is to "democratize access to music"
- what???? I think she is confusing "democratize" with "monetize", which
can happen to all of us 🙂

I figured it out. They pay less on royalties for music because they provide
audiobooks and podcasts and it gives them “bundle” licensing by providing 3
or more services with the subscription money.

So podcasts are going nowhere, even if people don’t like them and even if
they aren’t used much.

I am so sick and tired of seeing joe rogan's ugly face every time i open my spotify app...if all of the people that want the podcasts gone would just end their memberships for a month this would be fixed instantly.
