Allow lossless playback to Chromecast Audio device

Chromecast Audio is an older but still popular device for streaming. It supports FLAC up to 24-bits / 96 kHz so it should be able to handle Spotify lossless streams, yet it's currently limited to lossy quality. Please allow lossless playback on CCA.

Yes please. It's absurd to not allow it, it's capable of it

It works fine with Tidal, so it shouldn't be a problem for Spotify to
work with CCA and CCU.

Yes please, make this possible!

maxtaube

Need this!

PsychoTomate

Please, 320kb**bleep**.

grgppmchl

Yes please! It's totally capable!

VEDS24

Absolutely! This should've been implemented from the start. It's literally what it was made for.

This is a must implement. A great deal of the people who actually cared about Spotify finally getting lossless quality are the ones using Chromecast audio for primary listening. Introduction of lossless on this platform is meaningless to me now.

Chromecast Audio and Chromecast Ultra can already handle lossless (Tidal and others prove it), so limiting Spotify to 320 kbps makes no sense. Many of us waited years for Lossless and use Chromecast as our main listening setup — without support there, the feature is pointless. Please enable Lossless on Chromecast. The hardware can do it, and the demand is obvious.
