[Amazon Echo] Play multiple Speakers at the same Time

I recently got six(6) of the 2nd gen Amazon Echo Dots and placed them everywhere in my home. And I realized the policy of Spotify that is limiting to only one device to play music at the same time bothers me a lot when I set Spotify as a default music libary. For example, if one of my family members asks one of Echo Dots in his/her room to play music A, then music B on another Echo Dot I'm listening to stops playing.

I know there is Spotify Family Plan but my kids can't join that because they are just young and they don't have any email account yet. And also I don't want to create an account for them yet.

I believe Spotify could make possible to play the same music over multiple Echo Dots under the same network at the same time somehow even while it's not possible to play music on other multiple devices. Maybe by verifying some factors like if it's for Amazon Echo Dots under the same network under the same account.

Hey folks, Spotify staff here.

We wanted to post an update as this idea has reached over 500 votes from our users.

We’re always working on improving the Spotify experience across platforms, but we’re afraid we don’t have any further information to share at the moment.

I have been using the "multiple amazon accounts on multiple echos" to fix this issue for the last several years so that each of my kids can play their own music stream on their bedroom echos and take full advantage of our family spotify account.   It's just incredibly frustrating that this approach 'breaks' one of the echo's best features... to only have ONE echo respond and take action for a request.  I can't tell you all how many times I have accidentally set 3-4 different kitchen timers or alarms or gotten redundant weather updates throughout our hose when one of my several distant echos have caught a request I was making to my local device.

Regardless of the Amazon willingness to partner on a Spotify-family-account-to-single-amazon-account fix (and I agree that this would be the most optimal solution to maintain Spotify sub-account integrity to favorites and playlist, etc.), but another solution can clearly be in Spotify's control.   Just allow 'up to X' concurrent streams on the master account.  Netflix clearly can do this.   Many other services can do this.    Why not at least give us a second (also sub-optimal) solution until Amazon gets on board to allow a device level assignment of the Spotify sub-accounts within the same Amazon account.

If you’re have the Family plan and multiple Amazon devices, Spotify should allow multiple streams, even if on the same account, when you’re on the same network.

I received a customer satisfaction & feedback survey specifically about this topic today from Spotify. Thanks for listening!

I first searched for the solution to this problem a couple of years ago. The only 'solution' was to set up a separate Amazon account. I have a family plan and all of my family now have their own spotify account, so that means setting up 5 additional Amazon accounts and any other functionality through the echo dots stops working as it only works through the main account. I cant believe a solution still hasnt been found to this problem.

Almost jumped on Spotify as our primary source of listening. Now that there is a dedicated Apple Watch app this is the only hang up.

It has been found. It’s called Amazon Music Family Plan.

Adding my support of this addition.  I LOVE Spotify and was very saddened to cancel and move to Amazon Music.  The only reason was so we could play different music at the same time in different rooms of our house.

Please, please support this and we'll gladly return.

Stupid that this is still not developed.

I'm sorry to say that, but it is rather actively prevented

Spotify wasn’t able to fix this issue in 5 years. That’s a bye bye from me and welcome Amazon music
