I suspect I'm not the only one more likely to want a song, album or playlist to replay than I am to turn shuffle on or off. When driving, repeat requires multiple steps as it's hidden behind a menu, while shuffle is 'right there'. 

There are (hopefully) obvious safety concerns with having to look at the screen and navigate multiple steps just to turn on repeat. Additionally, we only realistically use shuffle once, but turn repeat on and off multiple times on the same playlist/album. It should therefore be easier to use the repeat function than it is to use shuffle. The same would apply to the mini player in the notification bar when playing on mobile.

I fully agree. Never while using a different app on my phone has it occured that I wanted to change the shuffle mode but plenty of times that I wanted to say "repeat that song" without opening the Spotify app.

Press 'Back/Prev Track' once before it ends & it repeats. I've always done it that way, I didn't consider there would even be a repeat button.
