Blocking Back Users that Block You

If a user blocks you, you cannot block them back! This should be a feature! I don't want my ex to be able to unblock me, stalk me, then block me again because they were the first to block!!

I want to provide feedback on the blocking feature, which I believe does not work as effectively as it should. When I block a user, they can no longer see my profile, but I can still see theirs. This can be emotionally difficult—especially for someone with a history of harassment or in situations where exposure to a particular person is distressing.

For individuals who have experienced harassment or suffer from PTSD, accidentally coming across a profile they are trying to avoid can be genuinely harmful. The fact that blocking is not mutual means the protective function falls short.

This feature needs to be more effective by also hiding blocked profiles from the person who initiated the block. This would enhance safety and make Spotify a better platform for all users. Strongly considering changing platforms.

Similar situation with me. My girlfriend has BPD so when we fight she keep blocking me on Spotify and unblock me to watch my listening activity. I don't like that kind of thing.

But also I'm in trouble now because somehow we blocked each other and can't see each other's profile. So we can't unblock each other.

I support this because I want to be able to see my girlfriend's profile so I can unblock her back.

PLEASE LET US SEE THE PROFILE OF PEOPLE WHO BLOCKED US.

i want to unblock someone ive blocked and that cant be done since my blocked list said no blocked user eventhough i blocked multiple profiles! this new feature is useless. i want to see my blocked lists

It is best to sort your disputes out offline...  if possible. The whole point of blocking someone is so someone can't see your profile and vice versa . Blocking was introduced to give people privacy, peace of mind, or to prevent bullying and harrassment etc.

Its the same with instagram, facebook etc. You can't see who has blocked you, and the people you have blocked aren't able to see you, so they can't see your profile so they can't block you back. On these platforms you can usually revisit the people profiles you have blocked and unblock them.

If it really bothers you, consider making your playlists and followers private, and create joint private playlists with your friends

If someone blocks you, you can’t see their profile and they can’t see yours, but you also can’t block them. Even though the other person can’t see your profile when it’s blocked, you have no control over if they unblock you and can suddenly see yours profile. You also have no way of knowing if or when a person unblocks you. I would like to block a person back so if they unblock me, they still wouldn’t be able to see my profile.
