RETURN THE LIKE BUTTON

I don't care if this has been submitted a hundred times over, you Spotify devs clearly need to hear it. You should *not* have to go through the effort of finding the "liked songs" playlist, just to add a song to Liked, when you have a ton of playlists. Playlists don't even sort like they used to, it seems almost random which playlists show first despite which ones I interacted with last - but that's not the issue here; it's just yet another downside of the problem at hand.

Please. Please. Please.

Bring back the **bleep** 'liked'/heart button on songs and albums. Having to add liked songs to my liked playlist manually just leads to me adding it to different playlists because it's so **bleep** tedious in the first place. I've been adding songs to playlists and then using the PC version to mass-add songs to Liked because you make it so inconvenient on mobile. This isn't user-friendly in the slightest.

Just, why? Why can't you just bring back the little heart? I thought the point of liked songs was to add songs then and there; not to have to stop in the street to add a song to a playlist because it now takes several seconds to do so. I've been paying for Premium since 2009, and now I'm wondering if you're worth the effort. Fire whoever told you it was a good idea to remove the Liked button, seriously. Fire yourselves for listening, too.

well there was a way around this, i rarely update my spotify soo i still have the heart and since spotify doesn't have a force update code, that means the heart can still be brought back by going back to the previous updates before the +.

One click add to like (or check, whatever) a song and indicator that I've liked a song when scanning a song radio playlist is back (on Mobile app anyways), works perfect for me 😄 Thank you to the Spotify crew for correcting this issue!!! I sympathize with others not having the full functionality they're looking for yet but promising to see this latest change.

I got the heart back, in the app.

Thx Spoti <3, awesome!

Edit: aaaaand it's gone again

Please bring back the green heart emoji to indicate liked songs. There are many reasons why the plus and check mark are inferior and reduces the user experience.

I like to systematically go through my favorite artists discography and indicate songs that I like more than others. Many times I make a playlist of songs for each of my favorite artists, but not all of them reach the standard of being a “liked” song worthy of my liked songs playlist. When viewing albums and playlists it used to be clearly obvious which songs were the ones that I liked because the green hearts were visible. Now it just shows a green check if it has been added to any playlist, not necessarily the liked songs playlist. For example I should be able to go into my “Drake” playlist and clearly see which songs in there I like more than others and are also on my liked songs playlist, as it used to be.

This issue is especially annoying when viewing playlists such as the Daily mixes, and discover weekly (which are great btw). Many of those songs and artists are foreign to me and when I hear one I like I want to be able to find it when viewing the playlist in the future. The current format does not show clearly which songs you have liked, only if you have added them to any of your playlists even if you did not add them to your liked songs playlist. I don’t want all songs added to any playlist to be indistinguishable from those that I “heart”. This makes it much harder to navigate through my library and find my favorite songs. It should be easy to go to an album or playlist that I have listened to and see clearly which songs I have liked, without having to click on each song. Songs that I have added to other playlists than the liked songs playlist are indistinguishable from the ones that are truly liked songs worthily of the “heart”.

In conclusion, the check mark is less useful that the heart, requiring more steps to distinguish liked songs, and allowing less customization of users libraries. The heart emoji was perfectly fine and not taking up any unnecessary room in the display. Removing it seems like a total oversight by the developers not understanding how their own app is used by customers. I am not against the plus button/checkmark button but I, along with many if not most of your loyal customers, just ask that you bring back the heart emoji alongside it. Checkmark to indicate it is added to at least one of your playlists, heart to indicate it is truly one of your favorite songs and is added to your liked songs playlist. Please BRING BACK THE HEART in a future update!!

Thank you,

Nino

Why not have the green check mark and the heart? What was Spotify thinking here? It did not have to be an either-or proposition. But I guess Spotify thinks either we're either too dumb to differentiate between use cases for the two or would be too overwhelmed by---gasp---more than one clickable icon!

BRING THE HEART BACK

srcalo

Agreed. It's frustating that when I'm listening through one of my own playlists, I can't quickly tell if I've favorited that song or not. Obviously I know it's been added to a playlist as I'm listening to it there, so what's the purpose?

If the point of this change is to allow you to see if it's been added to a playlist, a separate playlist button is better than losing the like functionality.

Hey Probablygoodideas, why do you insist on spamming this suggestion? It's fine that you disagree, but I see an overwhelming amount of good points from other users in the thread, and your only reasoning as to why this feature should not come back is that "it's easier to add songs to multiple playlists".

Well, it was just as easy to just heart a song, and then go to the Liked Songs playlist afterwards and drag the songs into other lists. I dare guess that more people are bothered about not being able to instantly like/unlike songs on the go compared to those that "need" to add songs to multiple playlists, multiple times per day. All the same, there's no good reason why both can't exist at the same time, is there?

So nah. I don't care if it's "against the rules" to ask them to bring back a removed feature, when it can be easily fixed. They *should* know that they made a mistake. I'm a long-time user, but there's no reason to blindly accept the changes or remain faithful to their services, if said changes make the app more inconvenient for customers.

I hope one day they bring the heart back. And I'll stand by my statement that whoever came up with the idea shouldn't be allowed to make decisions like this anymore. Don't fix what's not broken and all that.

BRING THE HEART BACK!

Vivster

Trying to find new music and add it to my library has gone from a really easy process into a unintuitive mess.

Please bring back liked songs AS DISTINCT FROM songs in playlists. It's just so frustrating 😭😞😞😭
