Bring back "Pin playlists to homescreen"

According to a discussion on https://community.spotify.com/t5/Your-Library/Move-playlists-to-Homescreen/td-p/5453989 it is "currently not available".

Albums are possible to be pinned to the homescreen, but the support to do the same with playlists is removed recently

Through this way I would like to request to add this functionality back to the android app

***update: I did get a playlist shortcut back on my Android homescreen finally. Try going into the app drawer, long press on the Spotify icon, the Playlist i wanted popped up in the context menu, another long press sent it to the homescreen.

***update 2: Wasn't sure at first how to control what playlists show up in the long press pop-up but so far it has worked by navigating to the Playlist and hitting the phone's homescreen button and going back through the long-press process above. Each time the most recently displayed playlist in the app was visible in the pop-up.

I'm a little late to this party. My last two phones had the shortcuts automatically transferred over by the phone backup service; so I had no idea this had been removed until my most recent phone transfer didn't bring them with it! Super bummed. I used those homescreen shortcuts literally every day.

Like @phrozenstare mentioned, my work vehicle is a Ford Transit van fleet vehicle. No android auto even though it's a 2019 so the shortcut was a huge lifesaver while driving. Not every new vehicle has fancy tech.

Spotify never listen to the customer. They're just a bunch of greedy people sigh

I loved the pin feature. I actually wished I could create almost like a 'widget' on my desktop, that is always at the bottom of my screen (I think old iTunes used to have something like this?). I love making playlists and it would be cool to be able to instantly add a song onto a playlist of choice (or from a drop down list of recently played playlist or something idk).

How about STOP REMOVING USEFUL FEATURES and then having us filling dumb 'hey good idea! maybe we'll take into account!' posts to get you to put them back

Delinkquint

Come on Spotify. Removing useful features is not the way to attract new subscribers. YouTube has Rogan clips and music with full videos. If I was a new sub, I'd definitely choose YouTube Preminm. Please bring back this feature now!

All the music streaming services have poor interfaces, making it hard to find what you want. Being able to pin albums and playlists to the home screen put Spotify way ahead. Deezer had this feature on Windows Phone, but found it wasn't part of the Android version when I had to switch. Tidal has folders, but organising them is even worse than on Spotify. Amazon Music doesn't even have folders. If Spotify had any sense, rather than removing the essential function of being able to pin albums and playlists, it would be boasting about it in its marketing, pointing out how it was far ahead of its rivals in enabling the customer - yes, the paying customer - to organise their music the way they wanted, instantly, at a glance. Isn't everything supposed to be ever more instant and convenient. But it appears either Spotify is run by fools, or they just don't care in the least about providing the best service for their customers. I have emailed them repeatedly as to why this feature has been removed, and they refuse to give an answer.

Same Problem with albums. My whole homesecreen is organised with this feature. Please bring it back.

Removing useful features that seem to need zero updating is why people hate technology and auto updating.

Instead of "Here is a new update for your app! UwU" in the patch notes, please inform users in the Play Store that you are removing features.

A customizable home screen with useful shortcuts is why I use android. Disrupting a decent user experience makes me think I need to test other library apps.

Bring this feature back!

Please bring this back. It was the only reason to get a family account to setup Tablets with shortcuts for the kids. They can’t/should not use the app.
