Bring back "Pin playlists to homescreen"

According to a discussion on https://community.spotify.com/t5/Your-Library/Move-playlists-to-Homescreen/td-p/5453989 it is "currently not available".

Albums are possible to be pinned to the homescreen, but the support to do the same with playlists is removed recently

Through this way I would like to request to add this functionality back to the android app

***update: I did get a playlist shortcut back on my Android homescreen finally. Try going into the app drawer, long press on the Spotify icon, the Playlist i wanted popped up in the context menu, another long press sent it to the homescreen.

***update 2: Wasn't sure at first how to control what playlists show up in the long press pop-up but so far it has worked by navigating to the Playlist and hitting the phone's homescreen button and going back through the long-press process above. Each time the most recently displayed playlist in the app was visible in the pop-up.

I'm a little late to this party. My last two phones had the shortcuts automatically transferred over by the phone backup service; so I had no idea this had been removed until my most recent phone transfer didn't bring them with it! Super bummed. I used those homescreen shortcuts literally every day.

Like @phrozenstare mentioned, my work vehicle is a Ford Transit van fleet vehicle. No android auto even though it's a 2019 so the shortcut was a huge lifesaver while driving. Not every new vehicle has fancy tech.

You want to lose a premium subscriber Spotify?  This is a good way to do it.  Bring this feature back please.

I really would love this feature back 🙂 was using it a lot to prepare 'todo' playlists 🙂

Also, idk how others, but i cant pin nothing now, not albums, not playlists... Option is just gone for me

Don't know why this feature is gone. It was incredibly useful and this is really seldom in spotify.

So please please bring it back!

I don't understand why it was removed. Didn't hurt anyone.

It makes it safer to change playlists while driving. The easy access and grid layout can be used almost without looking. And yes you can use the phone if mounted.

This is my default way of using Spotify: find something interesting while browsing the "about artist" section, then Add to Home Screen so that I can come back to it later when I've finished listening to the current Queue. Taking this feature away with no notification or consultation is arrogant and rude and shows a complete lack of understanding of how people use the App. Please restore the feature

Another vote for this idea. Please bring this feature back. Seems a bit crazy that it was ever removed and it should have been identified as a high priority fix in the next update.

Seriously fed up after this feature was removed.  Helped to make spotify more accessible for me after my stroke. I can understand adding features but what is the benefit of taking this away?

I notice that the OP says

I don't know if the change is recent, but it is not now possible to directly pin anything to the home screen on Android. Neither Albums nor Playlists can be pinned. I would like to see the complete restoration of the "pin to home screen" feature.

This post perfectly describes what the PAYING USER BASE WANTS.

DOES SPOTIFY NOT CARE WHAT PAYING CUSTOMERS WANT?

What is the motivation to make the experience less enjoyable?
