Hi there,

I think many users get annoyed by those "local" recommendations that are based on the country that is chosen by their payment method.

E.g. I'm living in Europe, where English language is not local language, and I'm getting recommendations for the local songs, which I don't like, and I'd prefer English music over that, is there any chance I could change my country of recommendations to US or Canada?

I'm with you guys.

Used Spotify free with Sweden as profile country for years, all was great.

Now Spotify available (finally) in Russia so I'm a premium subscriber. But now I'm getting all these annoying russian music in automatically generated playlists.

I don't know who decided what one will want to listen local music by default. 

Every time russian band popups, I need to open its page and click "don't play this artist".

Could be much better to exclude certain country in settings.

Currently, testing Deezer, they have higher music quality option and will see how things with recommendations works there

Just got a 3 year spotify community badge! That is when I first posted a comment on this issue and nothing has changed since. Not even any kind of response.

Let's keep the thread alive and hope for it to get fixed someday.

It's been two years since they marked it as "not right now" well when will it be? I posted the same idea which was deemed closed because this one existed and I knew that but I went for it regardless because I wanted to get their attention on the subject. Here are comments from people who have the same issue and the votes of 1246 people who want a change! When will you, Spotify, see a matter we want as worth trying? It's been two years and 17days already since the absurd "not right now" not to mention that this request existed for five years. DO SOMETHING.

Music is so powerful. When I'm missing home, I want to hear music from my home country and just for a moment feel as though I am there again. I would also love to be able to explore music from other countries.

Alas, I only have the option to receive suggestions based on the very place I would like to escape.

Dear Spotify, 

I am Polish but sadly I don't like Polish music. Every time I go into a genre of music I am bombarded with playlists containing Polish music. Because of that, it's hard for me to discover artists from different countries. I am well aware that you can switch localization based on the payment method, but come on, is it the only way to have only American/German/French/UK playlists? Please let me have a choice. Premium users should be able to customize their preferences.

I am aware that it is a way to promote artists but choice would be nice.

I **bleep**in hate finnish mass-music, spotify keep on force-feeding it to me no matter what. Button to turn it off would be nice, if I ever feel like I want to hear any finnish music I can find it myself thank you. No. I don't want my spotify to push all**bleep** to otherwise good lists. Just because I am from finland and I have finnish spotify it doesn't mean I want to hear "latest top 5 finnish bangers" like **bleep** that.
