[Car Thing][Developer] SDK for Spotify Car Thing

Hi Team,

Car thing is very nice piece of hardware, specially the controls. I am sad to see it going away. I want to ask the team to release an SDK for it, so the homebrew developers can keep it alive for longer. Please consider it before killing the device support.

Yes please. This is a chance for Spotify to show it actually listens to its most passionate paying users. Also just to be cool and gain massive amounts of internet points. Just do it! 

this would be such an amazing device if open source. Hardware is perfect for people like me with older cars and so much potential with just Bluetooth connectivity.

I use CarThing daily. i drive a 20 year old vehicle with the stock sound system. I feel like car thing makes my drive safer. I would really prefer to be able to continue using the product and service that I purchased.

Likely your biggest fans or "power users"; the real people that believed in what Spofity was trying to do here bought this. And your response it to turn it into e-waste. I don't get it, how real people could make decisions like this and think it's ok.

So beyond disappointed car thing is being discontinued and we can’t even get reimbursed for it! With the way the economy is, people don’t just have $50 here and there to throw around especially if our family owns multiple devices. Car thing helps to ensure safe driving when listening to music. With not having a screen in my older car it was easy and safe to change songs using voice control. Now I have to go back to using my phone as the music control. Possibly switching me and my entire family to Apple Music after this is discontinued. Might as well make my use out of the device before you deactivate and then expect me to just throw the BRAND NEW device away. LOL.
