Change/ Disable voice personality of AI DJ

As the title says, it would be a great feature if we could change or disable the voice or personality of the AI DJ.

Yeah, the DJ AI is a great idea, but I'm not a fan of the voice. Maybe it works in the States but for the rest of the world I think an accent that is specific to your region would be cool. Or being able to choose local DJ voices would also be cool.

this 100% should be a "live idea" instead of a "good suggestion". it was 180+ in 6 months last time i commented it should change... now its 500+ in 6 months. come on spotify team. the people have voiced their need for new dj options

Look. The DJ feature in Spotify is certainly welcome. It does seem to find new songs from genres I like - and occasionally from the genres that my kids listen to on my account! Most of the time, I don't mind the voice - if I suspend my disbelief, I can imagine the DJ introducing indie folk. And I suspect that the voice is quite enjoyable for many people - if nothing, it is animated. But, most of the time, I just skip the DJ. I do wish some of the community would stop with the hating on the voice - although it is AI, the voice does belong to someone - anyways - any discontent should be directed at the decision to not offer alternative voices. That was clearly short-sighted.

Anyways - it goes without saying - please offer a range of voices. It is not at all clear why this wasn't a feature when launched or couldn't have been implemented almost immediately after the first feedback from the community. My 10 year old sat nav has a selection of voices!

Other suggestions though:

1. If you are going to have a DJ - have them do something worth while - just introducing the next song is pretty rudimentary. Give me a run down of the artist, the album, an interesting fact about the song or the artist, tell me if they are coming to my city. Maybe even remind me what I was listening to this time last year? I dunno - perhaps people might want to have a DJ read 30 seconds of news on the hour? Having several options to nominate what I'm interested in, and how long I want the DJ to talk for, would be welcome.

2. Let me choose the frequency and length of DJ interruptions - and an option to turn it off altogether and just run with the DJ selections.

For the love of god, the DJ feature is great (because Spotify on shuffle is terrible) but there isn’t a single person using it who likes the DJ voice, completely unnecessary and downright annoying.

KILL THAT **bleep**ING VOICE

Agreed. I'm British and find the style (the biggest issue) accent of the DJ really grating.
The feature has a lot of potential, but I just can't get on with the style

Please make the voices stop. It's just a toggle.

Also, not all artists have names that can be easily pronounced assuming they're USian.

Bo Kaspers orkester (Swedish) or a new favourite pronounciation of "Die Melktert Kommissie" (Die is not pronounced as in "become dead").

The narration is SUPER annoying. Reminds me of those annoying mc's in clubs with their friggin boat horns. We just want the music, the intros just mess up the flow of the music.

I am very confused about how this made it past any kind of testing or focus groups...

I also personally loathe having a machine AI speak to me, like, seriously, no thank you. Ugh.

The feature actually seems interesting, in terms of music selection, other than that.

Given the Spotify track record it probably went like this:

"Ohh, this is super annoying and ridiculous. Let's give it to everyone!"
