Why covered song?
I'm a fan of K-pop idol(specially fromis_9). Many K-pop idols usually covers a lots of songs.

Current problem for Spotify
Currently, Spotify does not have a formal system to distinguish between original songs and cover versions. This causes issues (my guess) for the recommendation algorithm because it does not know if a song is a cover or not. As a result, many users are recommended covers they do not want, and there is no way to block them. Conversely, fans who enjoy covers have no central place to find them.
The solution for it
I suggest a management system inspired by the "fork" concept used in software development. To explain this simply: a "fork" is when someone takes an existing piece of work and creates their own version of it, while the system keeps a clear, permanent link back to the original source.
How?
Artist Verification: Using the Spotify for Artists app, musicians could officially tag their tracks as covers and link them to the original song. This ensures the connection is accurate and verified.
Clear Labeling: On the song playback screen, under the artist name (where audio quality labels are usually placed), an icon would indicate that the track is a cover. This icon would display the original song's name and act as a link to take you directly to that original version.
Discovery Hubs: Every original song page could include a section showing all available covers of that track, ordered by user likes. Artist profiles would also feature a dedicated tab for their covered songs if artist wants.
- Covered Song Block System: You can block any covered songs or all of covered song BUT you can also whitelist specific artists or covered songs that you like.
The benefits implementing this feature into Spotify
This system would make the platform feel more intuitive and "human." It would provide the data necessary for the recommendation system to let users choose whether they want to hear covers or stick only to original versions. Also it will provide a more suitable environment for artists and listeners to interact. This would make Spotify the best platform for both artists and listeners.
