Create Your Own Radio

I'd like to propose an exciting idea that could greatly improve the Spotify user experience - the ability to create personalized radio stations by choosing two or more songs, artists, or playlists. This feature has the potential to transform the way we enjoy music on Spotify.

Here's the simple concept: users select a few songs, artists, or playlists they love, and Spotify automatically generates a unique radio station. This enables creative and personalized music curation. You can mix your favorite tracks, discover new music, and even share these custom radios with friends and family.

This feature not only enhances user engagement but also promotes music discovery, benefiting both listeners and artists on Spotify.

Please consider this suggestion as it empowers users to be their own DJs, taking ownership of their music experience.

I love the radio feature for music discovery. I think it would improve the selectivity of the radio to be able to specify radio based on song sound similarity vs a radio based on similar artists. Logistically it could be incorporated like the tabs for genre selection in the Liked Songs. Would love to see it happen!

Currently radios can be hit or miss based on if the user wants to hear the same sound vs similar artists.

Also put an all music ever shuffle button in Discovery

It would be great to be able to choose different criteria to refine the way that radios or mixes are built, such as artist variety, new/known tracks balance, or other mood/genre criteria, as it is possible for other competitors (see enclosed screenshot).

That would make it possible to avoid listening to the same, always recommend music, that creates a self-feeding loop, very hard to escape.

This!!!!! Sometimes I want to listen to a blend of artists that share no similarity other than my love for them, and I dont want to have to make a playlist for every one of these moods. I'm also tired of my "liked songs" playlist giving me the same 12 songs I listened to 8 years ago. I like discovering new music but would love more variety when it comes to genres for radio stations.

The idea would be...

Create playlists with selected artists, more or less like "Spotify Radio" creates its playlists..

The name could be like Spotify: MyStage or Spotlight

You put up to 5 or 10 artists in a playlist and it creates (dynamically or not) the playlist with the most played, most viral or most liked songs of these artists.
Thus creating a playlist only with those specific artists, regardless of the genre.

For example, I select the artists "Chris Brown, USHER, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Filipe Ret, 50 Cent, Alok".

It automatically creates a playlist with songs only from these artists playing in random order or in the order chosen by the artist, one from each and always moving on to the next.

Spotify Radio already does something similar, but I can't select the artists I like to play only them.

I miss this feature, I think it could be interesting for most users. 😉

I was thinking similar to song radio, what if you can make an artist radio option too. Sometimes we like a particular artist's style of music but we get tired of listening to the same songs. The artist radio will find other artists that play similar styles of music of a particular artist. I feel like this will help users find unknown artists that they may like easier and quicker.
