Hey Spotify,

I had an idea that could make switching playlists feel a lot smoother and more immersive.

Right now, if someone switches from one playlist to a completely different genre, like Rap to House music, the transition can feel pretty abrupt. Instead, Spotify could automatically identify a “bridge” song that mixes well between both playlists and genres.

For example, if a user switches from a Rap playlist to a House playlist, Spotify could:

• Analyze BPM, energy, key, and vibe
• Find a song from the current playlist that transitions naturally
• Then blend into a compatible House track before fully switching over

This would make playlist switching feel more like a live DJ set instead of an instant hard cut between genres.

I think this would work especially well for environments like sales floors, gyms, parties, road trips, or group settings where the music is constantly changing throughout the day.

Potential feature names:
• Smart Transition
• DJ Bridge
• Genre Blend
• Smooth Switch
• Cross Playlist Mix

Could be an optional setting users can turn on/off in playback settings.
